Waiting for the thread that will speculate on who McVay will hire as the new Defensive Coordinator.

Pleasant, Lake and even Shula could be in-house candidates
Chris Beake is someone who can be thrown in if Pleasant leaves

Bitter Sweet. Good luck to you Mr Morris!

I am excited that we get those draft picks. I'm also equally excited to see what McVay does at the DC position. I'm hoping he brings someone in with more of a 'we don't bend, we break you' mentality on defense.

wonder who the Rams will target

I want Phil Parker Iowa Hawkeye defensive coordinator... a similar zone style but lots of turnovers forced.

But seemingly no interest in the NFL
Staley seems like a no brainer unless he wants out of the LA area or if McVay doubts his ability.

Just you wait until the next draft!! :laugh4:
There are more nuggets out there like the conductor, Puka....
YEAH!! I'm on the cool-aid!! :woozy2:
Last year's draft was nothing short of amazing. Just saying not every year will turn out that way or that the next coach may not be able to get the best out of all the youth

A return of Staley may not be out of the question.
Thinking Evero (I am a huge fan) might remain in Carolina with the hire of an offensive head coach.

I have previously mentioned Jim Leonhard as a personal favorite. Could also see Green Bay having an interest.

Curious about the Ravens' Anthony Weaver, who has a D-Line coaching background that could make him a fit.

Can we all agree ... No thank you Joe Barry?
Yeah, Shula has been here a long time and you gotta think that unless he is content as a position coach, he either gets elevated or leaves for somewhere where he can get a promotion.

Rumor is he was a backstabber in NY...went to press behind Dabol's back... Kind of a Buddy Ryan type, if you are old enough to remember. A real loose cannon. I don't see McVay wanting to deal with that.
Wink's old as well. McVay needs someone with the energy to duel him through the season in live periods. I just don't think Wink fits that criteria.

I'd start with the secondary coaches of top defenses. Bullocks has been killing it with SF's safeties for years. Hewitt (Baltimore) runs the pass game duties for his defense. Both those guys might be available by their teams for a legit DC gig.

I see Staley mentioned here a lot....

no thanks he has been complete ass the last few years.

Wink is an interesting idea .... but his defensive style isn't typically what McVay has incorporated

So… who’s the next DC?

And who is Rah taking with him?
I sure wish that this happened before D'Anton Lynn left UCLA for USC. I would love him for our DC. He had the top D in the PAC12 without nearly the best talent.

Think I read the Dolphins are close to adding him. I'm fine with Staley if he returns because we'll get a DC who is wiser and safe from being poached for a couple years. What he did or did not do while getting his ass handed to him as head coach doesn't concern me.

Not so concerned with the head coaching record.. more that he ran the Chargers defense and it was horrific...
