I kinda agree with den.

This might mean Rams are planning on going all out at QB in 2026. A much better crop next year, reportedly.

Good move. He knows the offense. Has a rapport with everyone. Well, maybe not so much Adams. But I'm sure they can work together. I thought he played fairly well with backups in the final game. If Stafford goes down a couple games Jimmy can hold the fort down. Much better than the likes of Wolford, Rypien, Bennet or Mannion.

Stafford this year, we win the Super Bowl and he retires.

Jimmy G for part of the next year and helps continue to mentor a QB we draft on D2 this year. The QB we draft on D2 THIS YEAR and is mentored by Stafford and Jimmy G.
If Stafford plays well enough to win the Super Bowl this year I think there is very little chance he retires. He wants to play for 2-3 more years no matter what.

I think you just nailed it, ottoman.

Snead seemed pretty clear they'd like a guy to learn from Stafford, dont know how much longer they can wait. Clearly (and to no surprise) Bennett aint it
Yep. This is the window where Bennett should be stepping into that backup role. So signing Jimmy probably means he's done in horns.

Wow ...11 million? Didn't we pay around 7.5 last year?
Seems like an overpay unless I'm missing something...

Deep Down methinks it's this guy.

Garoppolo had other opportunities to start, plus the cap went up so salary goes up too.

Looks like cap inflation plus the Rams really wanting him back.

that 11 mil must be LADEN with playing time incentives and its really more like 5 mil

also....yea we are not drafting a QB....can't afford to dump starter caliber money on a backup QB and then also spend a pick in the first four rounds on one as well if we want to maximize our roster this year

My pipe dream for Rams QB of the future is that things completely unravel in Cincinnati over the next 1-2 years. Big Whit (thru LSU ties) starts back channeling with Joe Burrow about coming to play for Sean McVay. Stafford retires after stashing away another ring, and we keep the train rolling with 30 year old Joe Burrow after Snead sends them a haul.

Manifest it. It will happen.
