Yeah, you really don't want to compare college stats with Keenum's. Take a look at them sometime.
Right On Bro! Keenum has a Ton of great College starts! (y);):D And we all can see how they have translated to the NFL!

what scares me is maybe fisher isn't stubborn maybe goff is a bust. I try to fight that thought off but it just creeps in

Goff may be a bust, but early returns mean nothing in that equation.

IMO Fisher genuinely believes what he is doing for Goff is the best thing not only for him but for the Rams' investment. The media can talk and talk about what a bust he is, but it doesn't matter at the end of the day because as I have mentioned again and again so many great QBs did not start hot in this league, and some who started hot turned into mediocre or worse careers.

The problem with Jeff's approach is that Case isn't good enough to carry the torch. Before the season we discussed INTs specifically, that those had to be down for him to do the job. He didn't need to be Dan Marino, but he did have to be a game manager who is careful with the ball. Now Fisher defends him and the INTs that weren't his fault, but the fact is other INTs were there to be had by defenses as well; Case is not getting it done.

What is coming here real soon is what Jim Everette observed before the season, that the Rams are going to hold the kid out as long as they can, but at some point he will be pressed into action due to Case not being good enough. That point is basically here. Fish talks about how good the NYJ defense is, but they are 22nd in passing yards allowed, T-21st in sacks, and 24th in passer rating against. The dude is just out in left field when it comes to offense, plain and simple.

I didn't read that as being the salient point of the article. The main point was that Keenum has performed exceptionally unexceptional while under pressure, the entire season. And the salient question of the article was how bad can Goff be. So the author showed examples of how well Goff handled pressure, the only examples of that can be found in his college career, due to the fact that Fisher won't play him. And most people would believe, as many other examples were pointed out how other QBs handle pressure, that Goff may be able to perform as well as the worst in the league, Keenum, or may actually even do better, as all others are, so why not start him? That is the main things that I take away from the article, but I am not surprised that others only see a college stat comparison article.

David Carr was thrown to the wolves his first year in Houston with a mediocre to bad offensive line. He got pounded every game and never recovered from the experience. Did anyone other than the Rams organization consider that it might be a good move to let Goff run plays in practice to adjust to NFL speed, blitz packages, and pro coverage schemes? It might make the difference in him becoming what the team wants, a career franchise quarterback

The point isn't the value of comparing the college stats of the two QB's.

The point is, rather, what's in the best interest of the Rams, both short and long term.

I'm reminded of a famous quote. Don't know the author's name, sorry.

Goes something like this. "Yes, warships would be safer if kept in the harbor. But that's not why they were built".

Goff is our future warship. I favor sooner rather than later for his first taste of battle.

Otherwise, WTH did Fisher draft him?

Play the kid, dammit!

Goff is not the answer. He looked terrible in camp and preseason. Give it to Mannion. He is PRO ready

Actually, Carr's 2nd year he was sacked only 15 times in the season...his 3rd, 4th, and 5th years were statistically his best. Also some of his highest sack totals too (49, 68, & 41). His highest sacked year was his first, 76. Was he ruined??? Only Carr can tell you that, I just think he wasn't that good. Look around, just because you're sacked and play early doesn't mean you'll bust out...

I still wonder, if Goff could be ruined, what the hell did we do to Keenum? Who "ruined" him?
