Prayers for peace and cooler heads to prevail. This whole Iran nukes issue has been building for years.

I think ultimately this will be for good, and the people of Iran are already reportedly celebrating not being under the thumb of this regime anymore. They are done. Halleluia.

Let's just hope for peace all around. I have heavy doubts about any sort of peace anywhere for reasons I won't get into, but it's what I hope for; one of my two irl besties is in the Air Force National Guard.

Peace and stability in that region would be great. But man, so much hate all around sure makes it hard. We humans are a destructive species. We just can't help ourselves.

Well, those bunker busters looked like they worked. Maybe that is all that was needed.

The problem is its just the human condition....every generation has to learn variations of the same lessons.
Add in the fact the landscape and players are always changing....nothing gonna change anytime soon.

The US played this episode about as good as it could have been played. Offer the peace deal. Use the proxy to punish for non-compliance (which was ironic given Iran's love of proxies). Hit their ability to produce undesired materials and avoid suitcase nukes being made for terrorists.

Key now is let's not get tied up in nation building. If the Iranians rise up that would be great. But they have to want freedom and fight for it themselves or it means nothing. Khomeni and his regime will go to the table at some point.

One difference in Iran vs Iraq or Afganistan is the Iranians are not too far removed from knowing what a western system feels like. They are a capable and intelligent people, so I am rooting for them to rise up but who knows how this thing will turn out.
