Hopefully McVay witnessed his own success with play action last week and reverts to it this week. Once Arizona is on its heels, roll out some WR screens and take what the defense gives you

Yeah Higs has looked like shit recently. Hoping he's just been dinged up and it'll reverse itself but it's been a bit concerning of late.

How about plays that have been run successfully in the past.

Let's get Skowronek or one of those TEs in the backfield as a lead blocker sometimes.

One of the better plays I can recall is when former Ram Gerald Everett lined up a lead blocker, ran past a bracing LB, and was wide open for a big play.

On a side note, I never understood how the team had a former QB in Akers and never let him throw a halfback pass.:wow2:

@Memphis Ram hold OBJ’s beer. I’m disappointed too. It was only the one pass I remember as well. Seems like Rat Boy always has one dialed up whenever they play us.

On behalf of us dirty minded members, I love the cliffhanger in the thread title.

Thought I was stumbling into a new Penix thread.

What I'd love to see is ....

1. A deep play action shot out of a run heavy formation
2. A jet sweep or WR swing pass out of the empty set

Also, has McVay EVER called a pass on 1st down then a run on 2nd??

The other maddening thing is when EVERY pass route called is intermediate to deep. You can see this on the replay often, when there is no valve underneath, and I just don't get it.

Dial up consistently the John Robinson play calls with Student Body Right.

The Rams may not have the OL of the Robison era. But the run plays behind that OL was always a 1st down.

Maybe with the current OL, it may take three consecutive run plays to get 1st and 10?
