Guys, seriously though, it's Rochell. No extra "e" at the end.

And whomever voted for Donte Deayon is smoking some serious crack.

The fact that DD got significant playing time last year is mind-blowing, considering the end results of the season. Like the kid.. but if he's playing for you, you've got problems.

One thing I love about Ramsey is his physicality. Sometimes he's just throwing dudes around out there. :laugh4:
Exactly! Love watching him mix it up and dominate this top tier dudes! Lol

Still unclear what the answer is.

But most of us underestimated the staff's trust in David Long.

All in all, I'm guessing Long is the opening day starter opposite Ramsey, with Hill in the slot. And yeah Rochell looked great vs Texans, but I doubt it's enough to vault him past Long on the depth chart...?

I would think it should be Hill. Long really struggled on the outside last year, so I'd rather have Hill outside.

To unlock Ramsey playing inside, I think Rochell would have to be CB3, so then he and Hill would be outside when Ramsey plays the star.

Obviously I'm wrong here because Long is not playing in preseason and RR is, which tells us what the coaches think.

After another month+, I’m inclined to agree. It was Rochell who was on the field last game, not Long.

This is the year for Long to audition for another contract/team?
Hill and Long plus Ramsey with Rochell chomping at the bit.

I understand our future was drafted this year, but their major contributions might be STs for awhile.

If it was Rochell, he wouldn't be playing in preseason. Starters are Ramsey, Long, and Hill

I think it should be Rochell. He might not be consistent at this point, but he is showing up well most of the time, then play him so he gets better. He is the future.

Rochell stood out against Houston’s first stringers. I’m expecting him to be the starter by end of year if not sooner. 2 rookies need a full year.

Hill is best in zone. Most of his interceptions 2 years ago were not thrown to his man. He is a really good tackler and can stay close to the WR, but he has never been been good at turning his head around. Him being on the outside is only a good thing when it is sporadic or an in play adjustment. If he was the starter there the opponents would salivate.

I think we'll be in Nickel most of the time so both Rochelle and Hill are starters in that sense. Ramsey will also play inside some with Hill and Rochelle on the outside depending on matchup. I can see 7 DB's on the field in some situations with Ramsey, Hill, Rochelle, Long, Rapp, Scott, and Fuller.

I think with the upgraded Middle LB situation, I don't think we will ever see 7 DBs and 6 DBs will be much less than last year. It is a matter of putting the most talent on the field. In the box, I think our best players are our middle LBs even in passing situations. They match up with most TEs and make the surprise run less likely.
