These levers are easy to say that they're easy to pull, the reality is that they arent.
You know as well as I that reducing Staff/Kupp cap number requires adding years to their current deals, whether void or otherwise, or release/trading them. Easy on a cap calculator, but not in reality

You mean like Aaron Donald?
Donald's 2024 cap hit of $24M in Dead-$ was almost as much as the Rams' entire starting Defense!

I’ll play.

Pack your bags:
Noteboom
Reeder
Atwell

Put on the block:
Kupp

Look to upgrade aggressively:
RB(premium)
CB

-Address RB with a difference maker
-Rebuild WR room around Puka
-Continue to address the defense with help at CB and the middle of the front seven.

Bottom line: Get more explosive on offense. Kind of the same as this time a year ago.

We did get better and more physical, but it’s still a plodding group of skill guys that can’t run away from anyone.

Great points. Difference makers in the middle would be so welcomed. Williams is good, but not great. Not sure what the fan base will think of him as the off season goes on. He's productive, but fumbling is a quick way to lose your job. Melvin Gordon went through this a few years ago. He's an unused back up on the Ravens now.

I am hoping for a thumper at ILB in the draft and hoping a solid FA signing for CB.

I strongly disagree. What I saw was a chart using Stafford’s existing number for next year, which is something like $46 million and I adjusted other players, not his. I pushed forward money for Dotson, I post June 1 traded Jonah Jackson, and post June 1 cut Parkinson.
That got the Rams over $80 million, before doing anything with Stafford.
Yes, it’s Fantasy GM stuff, but it’s also things that are realistic and right there. If you push dead money into 26, you have plenty of options. These two draft classes, give you some flexibility with that, in my opinion.

Right. Easy to say.
But do these moves happen? No. First there is no post June 1 trade designation, only cuts.
Second, Parkinson and Jackson are going nowhere, as their roster bonuses are going to hit at the beginning of the league year
So yeah, you proved my point. Easy to say pull the lever but they aren’t realistic levers to pull

I honestly would love to find a way to keep Kupp, but maybe I'm in the minority there. Guessing a restructure is the only way. Only way I'd be ok with moving on is if we get a Tee Higgins type of WR in free agency or some other stud. Kupp to me, is still of value.

I think keeping Jackson, Kupp, Hoeght and Gallimore would be in order. To keep Kupp ( I hate thinking about losing him ) we need to have a real big time wide out to take a better defender away from Coop. I believe this would open him up for the big ' go up and grab it" catches that he's great at doing. We don't have that guy, other than Nacua right now. Robinson is more of a number 4 in my mind.
I never thought I'd say this, but Rozeboom is worth keeping as well. He's a different animal with Omar playing next to him. Not a starter maybe, but he's become a pretty decent rotational guy I'd say.
Gallimore has shown some tenacity and grit in several games, with his clutch playing. Another good rotational guy to add to the mix.
Can't wait for next season already.

This kinda feels like circular logic.

How do we know that Parkinson and/or Jackson won't be cut or traded before the start of the league year?

No.. you can’t designate a post June 1 trade… I understand what that means to the functional cap.
But it could open up $$ for the Rams to make a trade or sign vets who are waiting for a good fit.

Their roster bonuses are baked into the dead cap numbers, no?

There will be dead money.. never said there wouldn’t be.

Kupp had two great catches last night, one gave them a shot at winning this game. He adds key blocking to the offense so please think about that before you start calling for Kupp to be traded.
Hoping they re-do his contract and he accepts it. Be fair, but he is not a $28M a year player.

Kupp was hurt early. Came back strong
(Had the pleasure of seeing him
Live at NE and he balled out) and I believe got hurt again.
You’ll never hear excuses from him but if his lack of production was due to injury - then keep him for next year. He may never be WR1 anymore but I’ll take him as WR2A/2B for sure.

Darious Williams should go. He is not a willing tackler and he just may have lost a step. Can save over $3M in cap space next if they move on and more space in 26', a big year for us to re-sign the 23' draft class.

Week 2 against the Cardinals last September, Kupp sustained a high ankle sprain that sidelined him for four games just one week after putting up 14 catches for 110 yards and 1 touchdown in the Rams' season-opener against the Lions.
