Obviously feel awful about this but the team, city, and all their fans need to clean it up or more things like this will happen.

What a shame...

Unfortunately a case of natural selection. If you go to games here, this is not surprising. Many are lucky to survive their drive home.
I would agree with that from what I saw a couple weeks ago. Just people acting like complete A holes.

And Look I know EVERY fan base has em but its wayyyy more prevalent in Philly.

Godspeed to the young man that lost his life.

Seriously, as much as I love the Rams, I'm not climbing a light pole to celebrate, putting myself at great risk of injury or death. Why? All things in moderation. What a tragedy that an 18yr old's life is defined by one stupid act.

1) God awful, truly.
2) "Now is not the time to speculate on what caused this." There is no need to speculate...

That’s a shame. But damn that’s also stupid.

I guess young people have always taken risks but some things seem like common sense.

I wonder if the city will take any measures to prevent this after the kids parents sue them for having light poles along streets. :eyeroll:

I'd never wish this on any family (parents outliving their child). Sad and unfortunate.

The City of Brotherly Love also seems to be the City of Monumentally Stupid. "Philly Fan" is a real thing.
Those are some lowest IQ crowds one could imagine. Your life is in danger if amongst them.
In general, I do not like being in large crowds. Bad things can happen and you have no control of your safety, not good.

This kind of thing happens at celebrations and it’s unfortunate, I remember some city planning to grease the light poles to try keep people off them.

yep, no need

Ironically I'm pretty sure that was Philadelphia that did that for a past celebration and it actually made it worse because it became a competition for the stupid at that point.

I almost went the Darwin Award route but decided I didn't want to be a heartless bastid. :laugh3:
Don’t worry I’m picking up your slack.

Absolutely no pitty here and glad he’s not contributing to the gene pool.

I kinda was that bastid… I woulda been worse, but the gif I was trying to post wouldn’t post outside the quote… hate when that happens…

It’s a shame…AND… play stupid games…

every male could die in their youth. guys do dumb things, look at youtube videos. this natural selection quip is not clever and let's see people say the same things if a family member suffers a similar fate.

That's why I don't drink. I'd do stupid things like that.

At the same time, I feel for his family and friends.

18 years old how tragic this is. But I can't think of a fix for this, I thought let people leave the stadium in smaller groups but that won't work they will just gather down the road. So maybe a national campaign to warn people or maybe grease the light poles.
