I doubt we'll be big spenders but you never know. As I said on RRF, the only way I could see us getting a big name like Long is to structure a deal like this:
5 years, 52 million, 10 million dollar signing bonus, 30 million guaranteed
Year 1: 3 million base salary(guaranteed) + 2 million SB
Year 2: 7 million base salary(guaranteed) + 2 million SB + 2 million RB
Year 3: 7 million base salary + 2 million SB + 2 million RB
Year 4: 7 million base salary + 2 million SB + 3 million RB
Year 5: 8 million base salary + 2 million SB + 3 million RB

That's a lot of money being pushed into the future.

To me, Jake Long makes the least amount of sense of all the FA's out there.

A. The Rams are up against it cap-wise, and Long will be one of the most expensive FA's out there.

B. The Rams already have a good LOT in Saffold. But no matter what you think of Saffold, certainly there are bigger areas of need on this team that can be fixed more cheaply, like ROT for instance.

I like and respect Peter King as a football reporter but the Rams potentially being big players in free agency is unlikely enough and Long as a potential target is even less likely.
