Mason is garbage...It's amazing he was taken as a guard...he's just too short and not powerful. I like Tuney...is he number 61?
62. 61 is Marcus Cannon... he's gone from being one of the worst linemen in the league last year to one of the best. Health + the return of Scarnecchia.

Wouldn't this player be the same thing? I always agree with BPA based around needs....If BPA at the time we draft was Leonard Fornette, I'd be ticked if we took him.

No, I don't think they are the same. For instance, would you pick a player who's a carbon copy of - lets say Aaron Donald - or would you choose a complimentary DT, who may be 6 places down on your big board. BPA around need is the same as BPFYT for me.

I don't know about that. The Patriots run a specific scheme and are very good at finding players that fit it and Belichicks standard for a totally committed team player. They show any discordance with the staff or franchise and they get shipped out quickly.... a la Logan Mankins, Collins, and a few others in the past.
Exactly that. They are the best at finding players for what they do.

I don't know if this is right or wrong...but I'm grabbing another Aaron Donald...my first one might get hurt.;)

When was the last time we had an O lineman improve on the job? It's coaching and scheme as so many others have said here. I have been complaining about Boudreau for years, he was clearly past his prime and only collecting a check. Fisher did so much damage to our team by keeping these washed up guys and refusing to hire competent coaches.

The patriots follow a simple formula... "Do Your Job."
The Rams formula... "I thought that was your job!?"

I want to give our coaches time to evaluate, and implement their schemes to see whether the past O-Line problems were talent-related (lack of), scheme-related (too complex, didn't fit our talent) or a combination of both. My thought has always been it's been a bit of both. Give our O-line the right scheme with upgrading a couple positions and I think we will be just fine.

They also hold alot and never get called. Seen it time and again. Look at the winning run in the superbowl for example. The defender trying to make the tackle gets hooked from behind. No flag.
