There was no reason to explain. We all mostly have functioning, healthy, adult brains.
I just believe guys who stay away from playing fantasy President of Operations/GM/HC have a better sense of reality

I don't think it impacts one's sense of reality. The people who have the best sense of "reality" are the ones who put the most time into watching the team. Like anything else, the more time you spend trying to understand something, the better you will understand it.

Nah. Have never found golf interesting. Have had football, baseball, and basketball obsessions at various points in my life.
 
This isn't anything that hasn't been said already, by far smarter minds than me, but what the heck. This is the vent thread, right?

Since Fisher and Snead took over they have had five drafts:

7 first round picks, including four in the top 10, two more in the top 15. All four of those top 10 picks were used to pick offensive players, including a QB, a RB, a WR, and a LT. In other words, the four most important positions (arguably) in any offense. In addition, they have had 5 second round picks, and another 6 third round picks.

In other words, they have had 18 picks over the last five drafts, in the top three rounds. And yet, here we are. The very definition of mediocrity, if not outright bad. How many GMs around the league would LOVE to have had the draft bounty that Fisher and Snead have had? What, pray tell, would they have done with all those picks? I hate the Patriots as much as anyone, but good god, imagine what they would have done with all those picks? FOUR top ten picks on offensive players?? SEVERAL more in the second and third rounds? We should be a POWERHOUSE offensive team. A POWERHOUSE. And yet…

So that begs the question; were the player that they picked not good enough? If the answer is yes, then they have to go. You can’t botch that many picks. Or is it that the players have not been developed to their full potential? If the answer is yes, then they have to go. You can’t botch that many picks. Either way, the blame lays at their feet. So many picks that, as of right now, look like they are being botched. We should be a much, much better team than 3-5. Much better.

The window of opportunity is a small one in the NFL. Parity and the salary cap ensure that. We’ve already lost players to free agency that they drafted, and we stand to lose more. They can’t blame the previous regimes anymore, this is their team. And it’s not a good one. I am not a knee-jerk, fire-the-coach kind of person, but another year or two of this and all the potential that came with the snowball effect of that first RGB trade will be gone. The potential to be a contender will be gone. It will be, I am so sorry to say, the same old... well, anyways.

They have to go.

The Rams haven't scored more than 16 points in a game at home yet. This offense feels worse than 2011 and with the resources invested, yikes! I root for the Rams every week, but I'm done with Fisher, I've seen enough of how he does things.

Jeff Fisher is a great role model as he is never offensive

One more thing to make us feel inept, the Whiners set a record this weekend for most 100 yard rushers in a row. Only one not to do it against them was us in week 1 when we failed to score 1 point against the worst defense in the NFL. And it's one of the worst ever in the run.... the one aspect of offense that Fisherball is supposed to revolve around. I just don't get it.

Not only have the 49ers been giving out rushing yards like participation prizes, four of the seven players have posted career days against San Francisco.

  • Week 2: Carolina’s Fozzy Whittaker – 16 carries for 100 yards (career day)
  • Week 3: Seattle’s Christine Michael – 20 carries for 106 yards (career day)
  • Week 4: Dallas’s Ezekiel Elliott – 23 carries for 138 yards
  • Week 5: Arizona’s David Johnson – 27 carries for 157 yards
  • Week 6: Buffalo’s LeSean McCoy – 19 carries for 140 yards
  • Week 7: Tampa Bay’s Jacquizz Rodgers – 26 carries for 154 yards (career day)
  • Week 9: New Orleans’ Mark Ingram – 15 carries for 158 yards (career day)
All told, that’s 146 carries for 953 yards, or 6.5 yards per attempt. Yeesh

I like the concept of a young and forward thinking head coach working with homegrown young talent and watching them gel together. I like how they are playing for each other and are always competitive
It's fun to watch

Hopefully next yest, when we get our new head coach we be saying the same thing

Even Fisher had to think about it a min...The number of missed passes in the first quarter was alarming. The overall game in the first half by the offense was embarassing. I believe Fish will do the right thing this week. At the very least, what I'd hoped for out of the break, was that he'd look up and say, "I'ma try the kid in the 2nd half", and he does this on the road vs. the Jets.

Great post...don't ever think you have nothing to add...All of us do...I read the vent threads...Every single page for ideas... Hell, I notice who takes the losses the hardest ( where u at @Florida_Ram ) and don't really post... LOL
Those picks...interesting...the 4 high first rounders especially. LT, RB, WR (don't get me started on this dude)....and QB. I'm something of a amateur scout....draftnik...I look at the athletes...look at their skills...look at some game film or highlights...well, besides G-Rob, I like every single player to an extent. They have enough talent to be successful. they are quality pieces. Why aren't they being successfully utilized? I would offer, look at the beginning of the games...momentum is a crazy bitch. It'll jump from my lap to yours in an instant. Our QB continually robs our team of momentum. Never seizes the moment. The missed throws/opportunities. Continually. Every game...This one player constantly makes the entire team play from behind, and he's in too impactful of a position to do this. Replace this one area with the 1st round draft pick, and every single player drafted play gets easier, and improves.

Don't get me wrong about G-Rob either, I just thought that Lewan would be more dominant...I think it will take a lil more time for dominance, but he's coming along. Same with Tavon...but while I love speed, I like size too...

Checking out serious running games....I'm hoping we spend our 2nd round pick on a center.

My point, if you like the players drafted, you have to like Fisher. It doesn't clear his efforts in developing these players, but you have to give him credit. And also a lil blame in their development as well.

What makes me mad is that the Falcons are getting Taylor Gabriel involved. He's smaller than Tavon with similar speed. Tavon is a better player, why did he get ONE target yesterday???? The one target he got was a 16 yard gain..

TA is averaging 5 yards per reception for a $40 million dollar, 8th overall draft pick. His stats can be replaced with a 5th round pick and an UDFA that costs way less. :puke::puke:

Austin's a toughie... they drafted him because of potential explosiveness. I wasn't a fan of the pick.... just couldn't get past the small stature. And, it still aggravates me when a defender knocks him down with his forefinger (OK, exaggeration, but he does go down pretty easily).

Hey, he's surely had his "moments". But not like he was in college.

Maybe he's just another casualty of this poorly coached offense. Always have to wonder if he could become the next Dante Hall. I'm not at all confident we'll find out with this staff.

I may the comment in the game thread. But I think I would want to see Fassel promoted to HC with Williams remaining as DC. I am not sure if Fassel would want the position but I think he would do a good job of rallying the team the rest of the year.
