“He might break a tackle here and there. But if you’re a disciplined front, everyone’s in their gap, he’s not extraordinary,” Horton said Thursday. “If everyone’s disciplined and being where they’re supposed to be, I don’t see why he’s held to 30, 40 yards rushing against us.”

But Luke Kuechly is.

“I think when you’ve got a guy as explosive and dynamic as he is, teams are going to be ready for him and they’re going to make sure he doesn’t beat them,” Panthers middle linebacker Luke Kuechly said. “That’s more of a sign of respect for what he’s able to do and what he’s done last year. He’s a dynamic guy. Any time he touches the ball he can score.”

Gurley breaks out for 173 yards and two scores

post game headline: Horton Hears a Gurley

Well that's a point I disagree with.

Well, to be fair, Horton is solid in run support, reason why he'll be there at RDE for those type of plays, while Addison goes on pass rushing downs.

But he wasn't even on the team until recently (Horton), so don't know what position he has to make that big a statement.

Our defense is capable of limiting him, much like David Johnson being limited, but he's still a great RB.

Welcome to ROD.

I will say Gurley has been a disappointment this season. Sophomore slump, weak o-line, not enough carries, I don't know. Dude has mad skills though.

No running back is extraordinary without a line making blocks up front. In today's NFL defenses can remove any one player, particularly when the OL routinely suffers breakdowns and allows penetration from one or two spots per run play.

Here's hoping the line shows up on Sunday, that's all I can say. Tired of this offense getting kicked in the teeth and would really like to see things start to come together for them.

I think that's fair for Horton to say this season. I don't think anyone has been impressed thus far by Gurley.

I hope it pizzes Gurley off..Don't like it? Play better. Other less talented RB's are doing much more than he is, and I am tired of trying to explain his faliure. just do it Todd, no more freakin excuses.:wtf:

I respect Horton's comment more than Kuechly...but it's the general press that really frustrates me

Horton spoke his mind. Respect. Kuechly pretty much said nothing with a bunch of words.
Wish journalists would stop reporting and flat out start cutting guys off all the quote robots once they realize they're heading in that direction.

I don't want anyone on Ram's to be friendly with anyone in the league unless they're family/old college friends. I'm sick of reading the same quotes week by week, year by year. I don't want to read down right hate speech or personal attacks, but I think pro athletes(Janoris!) have interesting/funny things to say and I want to hear them without having to follow their twitter. Unfortunately speaking your mind these days has unwarranted consequences.

I realize i'm probably on my own but do you think Pete Rose would have ever said anything nice about Willie Stargell or Tom Seaver?

So when the blocking fell apart and one of the greatest ever, Barry Sanders, got tackled for a loss...which happened a LOT btw, did that mean that he was just...ordinary, then?

Or, gasp, maybe...I dunno...I'm just spitballing here...maybe it's a team sport?

Nah. I'm sure that Wes guy has it all figured out.

*tap, tap, tap*

Dang. I think I overloaded my sarcasm meter...

I think he holds the record for most runs being tackled for a loss. What would he have done behind the cowboys online?

.

Not just looking forward to a big game from Gurley, but a long run. I think his longest this year is 16 yards? That's amazing, considering what he did last year.
