Puka had his coming out party on Thursday Night Football. Sure, we know him and fantasy football geeks know him, but did the wider Football fan base know of him? He is 140 ish yards from breaking the all time receiving record for a rookie withe two games left. CJ Stroud has been the presumptive leader for OROY, but he has been out for December with a concussion and availability matters. Remember Carson Wentz was a shoe-in for the award before he was injured at the LA Coliseum near the end of the season?

Puka : OROY!!!

On most years absolutely 100% deserves it. But the voters won't ever give it to somebody else if a QB is even a valid option. Stroud for the Houston Shitstains will likely win.

Don’t hate me…
Stroud deserves it.
He’s a top 10 QB as a rookie… it’s just a ridiculous first season.

Puka won’t get the award.. but he’ll get the commercials.

Stroud has played 13 games.
I understand that but he’s at least going to miss 2 games with concussion protocol ( most of Jets game and Browns game) and not including any others. I couldn’t give someone OROY with him missing games and another setting NFL records.

That said he’s balling out like I knew he would.

I can. He’s still gonna top 4000 yards.
If he just hits his season average his last 2 games, that’s amazing.

It would be #3 all time for rookies.

Don’t get me wrong.. Puka would win just about any other year. Stroud is exceptional.

And it’s not gimmicky.. he’s playing like a vet.

If Puka breaks two rookie records (yards and receptions) he'll probably get it. LaPorta also has a shot if he breaks Ditka's TD and/or yardage record.

Stroud is the prohibitive betting favorite in Vegas.
He's falling, but still the frontrunner. He's also out again this week and the Texans seem likely to miss the playoffs. He needs to play well in the last two games to hold onto OROY.

I could use those descriptors when considering Puka’s amazing season. He plays better than most seasonEd vets. He’s likely to break the rookie receiver record, all time and he’s not gimmicky either. He is a complete receiver, who can block,r7n the ball, as well as catch the ball in critical moments. He hasn’t missed a game this yea even after being injured during a game.

It wasn't too long ago that really playing well as a rookie QB was automatically impressive without any explanations or excuses changing that. In recent years? It just doesn't mean as much, at least to me.

Of course I am a guy who loves violence in a defense and I hate the way the game has changed to "protect the players" when it's clearly only interested in protecting their ratings with increased scoring.

At this rate, it won't be long before teams W/L records will correspond directly with which running QBs managed to play the most games that season and success for rookie QBs will be the norm.

Hope I'm wrong and just getting salty in my middle-age..

I don't want basketball! I don't need too many games or constant scoring... I want the physicality and the drama that comes with real risk and consequences on that field. No i dont want or enjoy anyone being hurt. I look away at replays of injuries... its not about that. It's about football being a dangerous and violent contact team sport at its core and trying to avoid that truth with rule changes pretending to care about player safety is an insult to our intelligence, just like the officiating has become.

I like a good ballgame, playoff basketball can be fun but dammit I want to see men strap on their helmets with bad intentions in their eyes like the fucking gladiators they are, and go out and battle for fame and fortune and glory..... and enough real danger that the stakes stay higher than Willie Nelsons bus diver... I want very differently built teams and schemes, a mix of elite O's and D's, occasional 3-0 score games as often as the ones that score 50 each, I want to see a safety or a DT or a RG or anyone other than a QB win MVP and I want the goddam officials to be consistent, irrelevant and as invisible as possible. Dont want to know their names or ever care which one it is..... Use technology FFS!!!

If it weren't for Sean McVay (and the many other Rams coaches, players and FO staff who helped him) making Rams football fun during this era of the NFL, I'm not sure I would be watching anymore....

Oh, and get off my lawn!!!

I'm pretty sure scoring has been down this season. But that might be because so many crappy qbs have had to start this season.

The Texans have won games on the back of Stroud's arm. And tank bell's wr skills. I think he'll easily win the award.

Do you even know who won it that year ? Now you got me going!!

Shows how F’d up IMO The Rams have been over The Years!!
Even looking at this season you can MISTAKES all over the place.

I’ll just leave it to The NFC East ! The Rams could have had both starting QB’s & kept there own QB’s as depth. Both if who are staters as well this weekend. Note that The Rams have a pretty good backup in Carson Wentz.
—Looking back at Great trade, but how quickly things can change & sad to see Cousins hurt. The thing is longevity is a thing.RG111 won it 2012,but the Skins still drafted a QB in the 4th rd.

Wishing Case Keenum well this week.Dak sure was that steal winning it in 2016 over Goff & Wentz. Then Jalen Hurts(53) went to the Superbowl who the Rams just cut Cam Akers(52). Nick Foles sure was a Superbowl MVP though for those Eagles.

We can look at all those draft picks that The Rams gave up.2017 was a special draft for The Rams. This 2023 Rams Draft class sure makes up for it.

In Fact having Carson Wentz as a backup QB sure feels pretty good.I actually think he is a better version of himself 2023.Yet I don’t want to find out. There is something about a veteran QB still.

He just needs to play.
I’m just being a realist here.

Puka would’ve won in many, many other years… he’s incredible.

177th pick… lol
