I realise you are all celebrating thanksgiving, but we are soon approaching the Christmas office party season. You know where people get hold of each other, people have their one night of the year on the booze and puke on the way home (usually in a cab or on public transport), and where you call the boss a prick.

Anyway I'm interested to know where you are going.

Me......our party is at the Royal Exchange. http://www.theroyalexchange.co.uk

I am also being treated to lunch at http://www.galvinrestaurants.com/section/61/1/galvin-la-chapelle

So where are you all off to?

It won't be a company-sponsored party, as my employer has done away with those.

My co-workers will most likely hit lunch at the local microbrewery/restaurant on the Friday before Christmas...lunch will quickly morph into an afternoon piss-up. It's pretty much a given that we won't be returning to work that day :D

As a substitute teacher, I don't have regular co-workers.

So no party for me... :(

I remember those! My coworkers and I would work our asses off supplying the rest of the workers! Food and drink for 4 hours. Those were a blast!

My company throws a party, gives away a few cheap prizes, one or two really good ones in a raffle, free food, free drinks. Then we all get super drunk and go outside and shoot things. We're all about gun safety here.

Our company eliminated Christmas parties despite record profits this year. Huge morale booster!

They'll cater a luncheon on the 23rd allowing us the opportunity to talk shit about the cheapskates..

Work for a multibillion dollar corporation that reports growing profits for multiple quarters on end....no more bonus and no holiday party. Then they send out a survey to see why managers are reporting low moral....if you are going to be cheap and get blood from a stone, ok, but don't insult everyone by trying to pretend you give a toss about your workers.
The corporate model, generally, is scummy.

I work for a place that has like 800 employees , they used to do a Christmas party years ago , but it got to the point they could never pick a date to make everyone happy , some employees couldn't make it on this date , some employees couldn't make it on that date , then they tried to have the Party after Christmas , and employees complained about that , so they just kinda gave up, and just stopped having one all together

They do put on a huge Summer party at the Lakes though that always a lot of fun

We do go to my wife's Christmas party , much smaller though , , my wife's a Customer Service Representative Supervisor , so we're kinda obligated , it's usually a OK time , get a free meal out of it.................lol
