NFL puts wildcard game on Peacock network

Local markets will get the game on NBC, but as someone who lives out of market for the Rams, this absolutely sucks.

The Amazon thing was bad enough, but at least it's just the regular season. I don't want to subscribe to some streaming service just to watch the Rams in the playoffs.

I have a feeling the blowback is going to be intense when Vikings fans across the country are asked to do this. The majority of their fans are outside of MN. There is going to be some serious negative press for Peacock in January.

If you have Xfintiy or Comcast you should get peacock for free. I think a lot of ppl at least have their internet.

Peacock is a underrated streamer. Has a lot of good old shows and new ones, plus their movie selection is pretty good.

What's nice about Peacock is they host the games on the site so you can watch them whenever. Least that's how it works with the Premier League games. Not all the services do that. ESPN for example you gotta catch it live.
 
Just go NFL+ and watch the full game 10 min after it ends. Either on your phone or computer. If Fubo doesn't carry it live that is my fallback. They might carry the NBC broadcast version as it will be a nationally televised game. But these new subscription services are different. So I will restart my NFL + in August and not miss a single game. About $10/mo until the end of the season. I think it's $5/mo if you download the app to your phone. I don't bother with VPN's anymore. This is easier and cheaper.

So looking at what you'd need depending on a route that doesn't take you down illegal streaming which I found frustrating and highly unreliable years ago this would be general cost if you were to pay for access to all NFL games live. I want to watch the games live. I don't want to watch them later or with risk of feed being shut down or interrupted. I don't gamble or F around when it comes to watching my Rams games as they happen.

This doesn't even consider preseason games which I know you get all of with NFL game pass international but not sure the other ways. As long as VPNs don't become an issue (which I don't think they will for 2023 at least) it is easily the way to go unless you already had youtube tv and other services for reasons outside of NFL games.

With prices like that, I won’t be watching much. Being retired we have a fixed income with limited play money. As much as I love the Rams they don’t put food on the table or keep the lights on.

Heck, I'm old enough to remember when boxing title fights were on live network tv....

I think most people arleady have Prime, and again a chunk of ppl should already get peacock for free. But Youtube really fucked everyone with their stupid pricing.

I loved having sunday ticket for the past couple years but this year I ain't gonna fork over $400.00. Fuck you.

I think i'll just re-start sling and get NFL redzone. Seems like the cheapest way to do it, assuming sling gets to keep RZ.

I'm spending more now in apps and streaming services than I ever spent on cable. It's getting ridiculous.

If you haven't already see what ones you can get for free or reduced...from either your ISP or cell phone or whatever else. I had basic hulu for free for years, but t-mobile is switching to free netflix instead. Whatever...i'll pop for the 7 bucks for the UHD content too.

If the Rams aren't on TV, I just stream the game. The streams have improved a lot in the last few yrs.

I am moving to youtube tv + ticket this summer. Already have prime. Should cover everything but the Peacock WC game, but I have an HD antenna in a box somewhere and it always picked up local channels just fine.

Sunday ticket cost about the same with DTV, maybe a little bit less. And now of course you dont need to have crappy direct tv. I dont understand the outrage over this

Yeah, I've got prime and I have peacock only because they had a $0.99/month deal over christmas for a year so figured why not. I haven't done cable or dish of any kind for years and I don't have any desire to pay youtube tv for SOME games. If it was every single game (preseason, regular, and playoffs) for that price I'd consider doing the non-sub purchase. But nah, rather pay one price for ALL games live, replay ability for all, redzone, and it's a huge fraction of the cost. Maybe one day I'll get forced down that route but not today.
