Maybe I’m getting cranky in my old age.

Maybe more than maybe.

But this third day is infuriating.

These young men in the 4-7th rounds DESERVE to have their names called and have the analysts say something about them.

TWO segments they talked about drunk bachelorettes and didn’t announce like four guys!!!

What in the actual freak?!?!?!

When they’re not doing that, they’re rehashing the first two days.

Day three is an important day. If they want to do NFL Draft light, maybe put that on ESPN 8, “the OCHO!”

Sorry, but this BS is only aggravating me more and more. Bout ready to turn this off.

On top of it, they show a quote from Tom Brady about guys after the 1st round hearing their name called.
Back to the streets and bachelorette parties... Ugh

On a side note, if I see the commercial about the guy falling out of a tree one more time, I am going to jump out a window

No your not wrong in missing him. Mayock was a legit talent evaluate analyst. He's by far the best one of all the networks. Daniel Jeremiah makes me want to :puke:.

Guys way over his head right now and I'm sure the NFL execs see it to.

Mayock is wrecking with the Raiders to lay to rest those that thought he was bs. Guys was enjoyable to listen to as well.

Rich Eisen was like he lost his puppy night 1. He probably mentioned Mayock’s name 3 dozen times.

I know!!!! I’m starting to wish he did die in the woods!

I follow online and don't watch the 3rd day. Call me insensitive but I dont care about these guys non football related topics. If they could cover more picks and break down overall draft topics like how teams have improved maybe a short around the league with a quick snippet from a team rep. Better off following without watching for me.

It felt like day 3 had become a joke for watching on TV last year. Too many commercials and puff pieces. almost no analysis.

Yeah, you're not alone. All of the fucking networks suck when it comes to the third day, but even though I hate it, I have to admit that what ESPN did was much better than NFL Network. Talking about parties, commercials, and shit instead of THE VERY FUCKING SUBJECT THEY'RE NAMED AFTER makes my blood boil.

omg I spilled my beer from laughing so hard from reading this..I started to wish that his phone's battery was dead and he couldn't call his wife for help and what the hell is this old guy climbing trees for? Does he think he's 12 years old?

The TV version of the draft has become a social event, instead of a football event. That is why i follow on line, and have been for the past few years.

Guess I'm in the minority....I couldn't stand Mike Mayock and his "gods gift to the NFL draft" act. And that dumb "uh ahhhh!" laugh was nowhere to be found. It was so annoying, and now...a beautiful silence.

NFLN was a helluva lot more easier to listen to this go around. .

This came with the major format change to prime time.

I miss the good ole days of like 12 hours straight of analysis on a Saturday morning.
The three day bullshit is old. It’s just for more revenue with commercials and ads. I didn’t have to stay up until fucking midnight just to see my team trade out of the first. The NFL has become more of a reality show then anything now.

If it wasn’t for the Rams I wouldn’t even be remotely interested.

A bit early for a crown.

The Raiders had three first rounders. They likely could have moved back and still got Ferrell.
Jacobs and Abrams were good picks, but again, still in round one. This was a tough first round to screw up. His second round pick was Trayvon Mullen, who I really like. But it was an early second. Not hard to do in a deep draft. After that his draft was nothing to talk about.

If the rest of his picks pan out then I'll be more impressed, but the true test is what he does picking late or picking in a crappy draft, which we have yet to see.

I switched to ESPN mainly because I can't stand Mayock. Charles Davis smiling constantly drove me nuts too. Daniel Jeremiah is a lousy TV personality, as well as a lousy scout. Bucky Brooks sucks too. And Deion has become the biggest pile of buckshot arrogance On TV. I used to like fun Deion but now his personality is just grating.

On ESPN, Mel Kiper and Todd McShay don't argue like they used to. Kiper is much more mellow in general and I liked listening to Louis Riddick.

One thing that all of these shows does now is offer too mouths. Too much chatter.

The most enjoyable coverage for me is ESPN radio with Darya Noka.

Kiper is better than he's ever been tbh. He has gotten better and better with age and that mellowing. McShay's a nice young buck type counter to him.

Honestly I'd just have those two sitting there covering the picks on day 3 if it was me. And make sure each team's picks are treated with some honest (albeit quick) air time. It's why fans tune in, that is the hook. Execs just don't realize how far they're off the mark right now.

They all say "I mean" too much. Even Mayock did but at least he knew his stuff. When Eisen says "i mean" 2x in the same sentence I want to duct tape his mouth. Both Networks try to beat you over the head with the same commercial, even going so far as to stuff the same one in your face back-to-back so that you memorize it. That "whatta you wanna do play football" one won't go away. Other than all of that I watched NFL Network the 1st 2 days and skipped the last one and just looked online.

I have found Day 3 hardly worth watching... I.e. it is just as good following a draft tracker, looking at your own highlights.

I get why the NFL moved to prime time, but I do not enjoy it as much.

Not to mention I usually fall asleep at some point in the Thursday and Friday night broadcast. It’s just too late here on the East coast.
