So this is my 6000th post. I thought a little bit about what I wanted to say with this post.

So here it is: I love this forum. I love reading the topics, insights and yes opinions of the posters on this forum. It allows me to share my love, agony of defeat and thrill of victory with other likeminded diehard Rams fans. But I don’t enjoy when the topic falls into political positioning or obvious disrespect/disgust between posters related to your political views. It’s a cancer that we are subjected to daily via social media and news outlets. I’d like for everyone on this forum to consider staying away from the temptation to steer the posts into a political showdown. Let’s save that for other outlets. That’s my 6000th post and I’m hoping it matters but if not…..Go Rams and FUCK everything to do with the 69ers!!!!!
Suckup.

Doesn’t answer the question… are INSURANCE COMPANIES in a red state with Ron DeSantis as Governor “woke” because their climate models based on 7 decades of science indicate that they need to charge much much more each year because of the increasing number and damage of tropical storms and hurricanes?

Will all this affect football fields in the short term? Not likely as like I said, golf courses are likely first and many places around the world already play soccer on dirt.

That said, it wouldn’t surprise me if in the very near future, all water for grass will be banned in the desert southwest. We’ll see, but the models that until now have only been inaccurate so far insofar as they’ve underestimated the severity and speed that we will see catastrophic impacts… those models show severe long term drought continuing for decades even with brief reprieves for El Niños

So, no, football won’t likely see many impacts except for a few rescheduled games in the short term, but long term, like everything else, there will be an impact. I mean Miami floods on sunny days during the Kings tide now. It’s gonna be an issue at some point and likely sooner than any model is showing
There were more hurricanes in Florida 50 yrs ago and some were stronger than the recent ones. The difference is that there were far less people living in Florida 50 yrs ago. Less people less property to be damaged. The insurance companies are greedy and see an opportunity to make more $, so they are raising rates to increase profits.

Perhaps but the obvious factor is it's more expensive to repair/rebuild and as you say there are more things to be damaged.

That said this I think is the injury thread.

In my day the fields were covered in rocks and cacti, and we played barefoot, and nobody got hurt! These kids today!

@Merlin
@Riverumbbq
@Mackeyser

All 3 of you know better.
I deleted the posts, but didn’t issue warning points, this time.

Next time there will be suspension’s.

You guys are all great members, but you all know better as well.

We just can’t have political discussions here.

Well, we had cleats... but Mainland HS's football field really did have sandspurs growing all over it. For those that don't know what a sandspur is... you know them as STICKERS. And these are the worst kind.

Those fuckers kinda knew where the really big patches of them were on their field. It was kind of a home field advantage, but their players would have to come out to have wads of those nasty spurs plucked out on the sideline too.

It was beyond ridiculous.

Not an injury related comment but….
Just saw AD was fined $16k for roughness on the QB Smith but Metcalf only fine under $11k. Seriously NFL - screw you!
un-fing-believable.
DK got hit with 2 fines..each 10.9k.. one for the hit and the other for the finger

Lol when did that even happen? (AD I mean.) Sh#t resulting in injury should always be suspension time (Metcalf).
I'm assuming when he was going to push Smith down early in the game after chasing him to sideline and he kinda fell backwards and AD ended up pushing him in the facemask instead. Was one of those bang bang plays that I think wasn't anything that needed a fine but what do I know.

we watch a guy head but from behind our QB and he doesn't even get a fine. Talk about intent. Then AD puts his hands up to block the ball and comes down to push him and unintentionally hits his face mask. not even that hard and he gets 16k fine. Bullshit. This is why people start to see conspiracies. They have the least amount of personal foul flags in the NFL and they are in fact one of the worst.

And Trent Williams can pick a guy up from behind and slam him to the ground for only a 12k fine. Sure NFL.
