NFC West 2025 Draft Picks

Liked Seattle’s draft as well. Milroe could have time behind Darnold, Zabel is a solid center option, Emmanwori is a chess piece, Rylie Mills is a lottery pick ticket that could pan out in a big way, and they got some underrated skill position players in Arroyo, Horton, White (whom I think was a target of ours over Mumpfield), and Martinez. They even drafted some underrated O-line depth that could be more.

Did they get everything necessary? No, and I wouldn’t have taken the Alabama tight end, probably would’ve taken a corner or edge rusher instead. But I thought they had a very good draft.
 
I preferred Starks to Emmanwori but there's no doubt Emmanwori is an intriguing prospect. I imagine MacDonald will try to shoehorn him into that Hamilton type role in his scheme but that's easier said than done. You can have all the skills required and still not be able to do what Hamilton does.

He's a hell of an athlete though. Greatest sparc score in history at the position is rather crazy. That's what McShay said at least, assuming that is correct.

This division is no longer the best in the NFL and hasn't been for a while now, but they do look like they're on the upswing especially if MacDonald hits as a head coach. Figure Arizona will end up bottom and hire a new regime, who will probably draft a QB as they have needed to for some time now. But as I look at this division it definitely feels like it's gonna provide live divisional matchups with maybe all of us being pretty close in the standings for good drama.

3/4 of the players they drafted were on my personal wish list. Ugh.

Seattle potentially got alot better.

But their oline holes will be their undoing.

They have had a woody for big safety’s since Chancellor.

I will say one thing: no one in our division cares for the fact that the Horns have two 2026 Round One picks. If Matthew fulfills the promise of our rebuilt OL and wins another (or two more!) Super Bowls, and MacSnead pulls off a seamless transition to another top-valued QB to ramrod the Horns' offensive attack after Matthew retires, our division foes will be bewailing the onset of a new Horns' dynasty!!! :laugh1:

Looking at the draft plus other team moves I'd say Arizona makes a jump in defensive efficiency. Same with Seattle. And same with the Rams. Shitters probably improve the most given how bad they were last year. But we could easily end up with 3x top ten defenses this year and the Shitters maybe somewhere mid. NFC West will be back to being a rough division to play and one of the better groups.

I wonder how the Rams stacked up if you erase the first 5-6 games when the rookies were still getting used to the NFL and a new DC?

Fair. And we could get into the OL missing starters early on too, or the failed center move, etc. But every team has issues in windows in a given season that slew the stats below what they should be. So the only way to fairly apply that stuff is to take the entire season for comparison.

Saw a YouTube video on the breakdown. The RAMS got the Worst grade,but they added the First Rd pick & Chris Paul made The Rams draft.

They gave The Niners a A+ for Revamping They're Defense of Front with 2 of The Top 3 DT’s in 2025 draft.

Gave Arizona a A !!
The Hags a B grade

Seattle drafts a bunch of guys with injury concerns and that’s a good draft???

They still have too many holes on their offensive line to fix in one season. Zabel will improve their interior offensive line but their tackles are lacking. Sam Darnold needs a clean pocket. I think Seattle took some good players but neglected the offensive line which is their overall weakness.

Not necessarily if you’re trying to grade a unit with 3 main rookie starters. You could legitimately look at the last half of the season against the rest of the league’s last half to gauge where you rank - especially when you consider that one of those rookies didn’t even start at the beginning of the season. Verse looked like a rookie at the beginning of the season and Speights didn’t even play until Reeder went down.

I’m going to guess that the FO looks at that when deciding how to upgrade a unit. They are not looking at the season rankings.

It's just a crazy rabbit hole when you start down that road because if I start thinking that for the Rams then I feel obliged to look at the teams I'm comparing to and don't have time for that. So it's just easiest for these type of discussions, fans kicking shit around.

What the FO looks at who knows. But going back to projections for this season it is true there should be less BS on the defensive side. Shula in year two, maybe Speights can hold that job but less turnover most likely is ahead. So that's another fair point.

You can tell the Rams are sick of injuries. I don't believe any of their picks had injury issues. In fact they have all been very durable.... now watch half of them will be in IR by week 5

Availability and intelligence and ‘love of the game’ seem to separate guys. Now if they have all that plus a high RAS score, they are candidates to be a Ram.
