I think they should change it to having a long snapper snap it to a RB who would then lateral it back to a holder who would then set the ball on a tee for the kicker to have to kick the ball in between the 5 and 10 yard line. If the kicker is unable to hit that mark, the returner then would have to choose between lateralling it back to another returner or do the worm twice and then get up and run. If the returner chose the worm, the defense would have to form a conga line and not be allowed to break it until after the two worms are completed. If the lateral option is chosen, the defenders would all have to put their left foot in and shake it all about before doing the hoochie coochie. And of course none of this could start until Goodhell honks his clown horn.
Making Kickoffs Great Again. Good stuff sir.

PS...
Can you hook me up with your weed guy?

Cooper Dejean would be a nice addition as a KR and Safety now with the addition of White. Plus, if White doesn't work out he can also play CB.

I like this rule change. I have watched a lot of the spring football games (USFL & XFL). This similar rule was exciting in those spring games. Lots, and I mean lots of great plays. Many returns to the 40-50 yard line, and a number of returns taken deep into the opposing territory or even all the way.

I think we will like this rule change a lot for the NFL. Takes a few watches to get used to at first, but definitely should bring good excitement back to the kick-off!

Some players draft stock just went way up. Looking at you Malik Washington!

This new rule is going to be a huge hit.

The kickoff was dead. And now...

I like it... Kickoffs have been a waste of time recently...... But with the way our ST played last year..... *shudder*.... Let's just say I hope they play better, otherwise it will be our punter kicking it through the uprights and conceding the 30 on every kickoff.

I feel like this really opens up some new/innovative blocking schemes in order to spring a returner(s).

My first impression is that we’re going to see a lot of success from the return teams.

I just hope our kickoff coverage unit is better than our punt coverage.

We should hire one of the special team coordinators from the XFL as a consultant. Get a jump on this rule change.
Kicker too.

With the new rule, can you have two returners deep?

Some team(s) are gonna get burned week 1 if they don’t prepare for all possibilities.

Mike Macdonald: Seahawks will have a lot of offseason experimentation on new kickoff rule

The NFL’s new kickoff rule is one of the most significant rule changes in league history, and Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said there’s no way for any team to be sure it has prepared for what its Week One opponent will do.

Asked how much time the Seahawks need to spend on the new kickoff, Macdonald said, “I wish I had the correct answer.”

“It’s an ongoing thing,” Macdonald said. “We have a lot of — I don’t want to say experimentation, but that’s kind of what it is. What works in terms of alignments and how we can play things, and who can block what, the schemes. It will be interesting to see because we’re not sharing secrets on how we’re going to operate and we’ll have to adapt.”

The new kickoff rule represents a lot of work for coaches, but Macdonald said he’s excited about it.

“Hopefully it’s going to be a really fun football play. I think that’s the whole spirit behind what everybody was trying to do,” he said. “We have a really good chance to make it a really exciting play.”

With 32 coaching staffs working on 32 different plans for how the new kickoff will look, it should be very exciting in Week One.

Rethinking this new rule, I think our punter will kick off this year. He gets to race downfield after he kicks the ball while nobody else can move except the returner/s. Our punter is a beast in the weight room. Or do you want a kicker than can run fast as hell?

Shit with how it is just about anybody can kick now lol Except Tutu. Dude only does one thing well and the limit of his game

I am not a fan of letting an offense start at their 30. THAT is an unfair advantage.

Edit:
This is, IMO, an over correction.

if a team jumps the gun, offsides? what's the penalty. I mean waiting till the ball is caught, or hits the turf inbounds I see some eager players maybe leaving early. go rams.
