Things have not looked good the last few games for sure.

But here is what I think should be the focus for the remainder of the season.

Win the next 2.

13-3 is an improvemnt over 11-5 - that's moving the right direction.

Win at least one playoff game.

If these things happen I'll be satisfied with the season.

My expectations have lessened but they are still high - in that I think less than that is not enough.

Winning a playoff game is important.

Hopefully McVay will turn on his game hacks for playoffs. We need to get further than last season...

The fact that we'd be ecstatic to win the next two games and hope to win at least playoff game shows how quickly we've fallen. Leading up to the BYE we were ready for a Saints rematch and a Super Bowl run. I hate that our hope has been crushed of late. I get it... And I am in the same boat.

Does anyone have confidence that we would beat any of the wild card opponents, none the less the Bears or the Saints?

I fear that we won't win both of our next 2 games

As stated above, getting a bye and winning ONE game means we're in the championship game. That's a deep playoff run! If that's a drop in expectations, then y'all must have assumed we'd win the Superbowl easily.

Regardless of our previous two games, if anyone does not have confidence that we'll win the next two, then you must think we're hot ass, because the Niners and Cardinals SUCK.

Even a 12-4 record vs a 1st place schedule is an improvement.
Thats why back-to-back div titles are rare.
I applaud the Rams being aggressive in the offseason to make a run, but the automatic Superbowl expectations of the media hype machine has made something that is exceptionally hard to do and made it the only outcome that is going to make some folks happy.
That's a little unfortunate imo.

I am looking for the Rams to establish solid defensive play, get back to good offensive play and excellent ST play in the last 2 regular season games. Then and only then will I relax and have confidence that the Rams will show well in the playoffs.

Solid post I agree. We need to win at least ONE playoff game.

Well, frankly I still expect more. I admit the defensive flaws have been glaring. The loss of Kupp completely changes the identity of the offense. A strict diet of 11 personnel no longer makes sense. If not for AD, I think wouldn’t even have made the playoffs this year. All it takes is the loss of Gurley, AD, JJ, Goff, Cooks, or Woods and I wouldn’t expect even the scenario suggested here.

With that said, here are the reasons I still expect a Super Bowl win THIS YEAR.

1. I’m not smarter than McVay so if I can see that a scheme adjustment is necessary, I’m confident that he will. Zone runs will reduce and power will replace it. The same quick rhythm passes that defeat our defensive penetration will be utilized by McVay in the postseason. Truly, I don’t expect it against AZ and SF. The element of surprise is necessary.

2. The well documented liabilities on the edge and LB corps of the defense mandate the playoff game plans focus on red zone effectiveness, blitz gambles to produce turnovers, and deeper drops in the secondary to limit explosives. In a way, Wade has already begun the process but expect him to turn up the heat even though we will still give up too many points.

3. Football is an emotional game and this team’s best players have not played with the same edge once the playoffs were assured. I believe that first half of the season focus will return.

4. Ours is not the only flawed team in the tournament. I suspect their flaws may be greater than ours and that will become more apparent on our way to the Lombardi.

I have worked for "Mr" a few times and was contacted to do some LD work for him this holiday season, which I turned down. Those bathrooms are rather luxurious.
Lol small world.

I used be a Tour Bus driver....Went to see his show with a group every once in a while, along with many of the shows. I remember once I was using a urinal at Mickey Gilley's theater, and I look sideways and see Mickey taking a p*ss in the urinal next door...Of course I said hello in midstream...lol

I have a fun story about using a urinal next to Andy Williams at Moon River... and a few good George Jones stories from his times performing at the Grand Palace.

Last time I saw Andy Williams at his theater, I could have sworn it was lip synched...

For me it’s what adjustments McVay and Wade make moving forward. What we’ve seen on the field the past three weeks hasn’t looked anything like what we saw the first 11 weeks of the season.

Make the adjustments, beat two teams they should beat, get the bye, rest up and prepare for battle in the playoffs. The way it looks right now IMO the RAMS will be preparing for a rematch with Da Bears but this time in LA January 12th or 13th.

I couldn't agree more. Could you imagine going through 5 one and done seasons like the bengals. I really don't want to see that trend start. I'm just a nervous nelly at this point :censored:

Except for missing Kupp, this is the same team that was once 11-1 and the toast of the town.

So, hell no, I’m not willing to lower expectations.

I expect them to contend for the SB, frankly. If they get their act back together, especially the D, this is very possible.

No “settling” for me.

Thread winner because I have a drain clog that needs a plumber.
