That is wicked cool. 2:40 on the flight clock the rockets detach. That was cool.

you didn't know which shot to look at. i had to replay it over and over to have a look at each shot properly.

Some wild scenes in that video:
  • Dunes at 6:00...
  • Mountain range view at 7:00... pans around for a full minute. Really cool.

The other neat thing... at the start, they describe using satellite imagery to plot the rover path... seems obvious, but never really thought about that. I guess I always assumed they had that planned in advance.

Neat they make a little map to travel. (y)

The next rover lands in 2021 and has a drone/helicopter onboard...

Stuff you don’t think about... the blades will turn 5x faster to get liftoff in the martian atmosphere. Cool. (y)
