Sorry Selassie I jumped the gun ,David Allen Coe,You never even called me by my name

You got it...

I was expecting someone to call me Darlin though. :ww:

Y'know that's not the perfect country western song - right?

Amazing what some will Kareoke (sp?) to. Guess I'll throw one of those out there.

One line only:

It's getting dark to dark to see.

You may consider it perfect after hearing me sing it Stu.

Funny - I think the same thing about Bob Dylan songs. My nasally whine sounds much better than his. I do a mean Neil Young too. :cheese:

She's a poor man's rich girl
and she'll do it for a song.

Hopefully I'm not committing a foul by listing another before someone guesses the correct answer to all of the ones out there... I think there are still open ones out there from Broke, TD (I looked that one up already), and Stu.

Here are 2 from separate songs... a couple of my favs.

Song #1

A cigarette pressed between her lips
But I'm staring at her tits

Song #2

Every day the bucket a-go a well
One day the bottom a-go drop out

It's the wrong way (great album, shame the singer/song writer died)

Song #2
I shot the sheriff, but I did not shoot the Deputy (not know which version I liked better, Marley's or Clapton's)

"so you've been to school for a year or two and you know you've seen it all"

Very Nice Doc...

Just to clarify Song #2... Marley wrote the song and recorded it... Clapton just borrowed it.

Clapton swiped it, he didn't borrow it. And his version is nearly sterile compared to the great background vocals and Marleys voice. Clapton has nothing approaching that kind of range and soulful allure, it's no contest IMO.

One is a nine the other is a three.

Very true, very true

But like I said, I'm not sure which version I like better

For instance "all along the watchtower" was written by Dylan, but Jimi Hendrix version was much better

There are certain songs of Marley's like "No woman no cry" that I don't think could possibly be done better than he did, but I thought that Clapton did a great job with his version of "I Shot the Sheriff"

Ok this one will be tough.....

And she's buying a stairway to heaven.

But it's always me that ends up getting wet

Song #2

I don't wanna see no Doc
I need attendance from my nurse around the clock
'Cause there's no prescription for me
She's the one, the only rememdy

I figured the other one might be too much. There's a huge hint in the second line.

My genre of choice is Reggae don't forget.

Nobody's gonna get it. And it's by one of Reggae's most legendary artists.

Even though Gregory Isaacs isn't in this video, it's well worth the watch all the way through.
