Yeah, Gaskin's definitely better on third downs than any of our current backs. Reliable pass catcher. Not much of a tackle breaker.

Wonder what number he'll pick. 27 is available, but that probably goes back to Henderson.

Jake is reporting that Hendo has been signed to our practice squad? Can anyone verify?

Ok. Gaskins would be more ready to play sooner than Henderson..and coming from the Vikings he's using a similar playbook

I watched him play at UW and if properly used he is a legit weapon. If the Rams want a receiving RB then this guy is a good one. He's fast but he's more quick than fast. He's an elusive RB and can turn a simple dump off in the flats and get chunk yardage. He isn't a #1 RB type of player. He's best in a passing offense which this is. Good pickup.

Evans, Freeman now Gaskin, thats a pretty good RB room. Evans is your grinder, Freeman the rotational RB and Gaskin playing 3rd downs. I hope they keep Gaskin long term. He's far better and more versatile than Rivers. Now add in Henderson and that's a lot of talent in the RB room. With Henderson and Gaskin in this offense, the Rams could align like it's a run but is it really? That moment of indecision can be exploited. Again Stafford likes to cook in the intermediate zones, guys like Henderson and Gaskin force the LBs not to immediately drop into coverage. If they put a LB in coverage on either Gaskin or Henderson they could get beat deep.

This is the meat of the Ram's schedule and I find these additions very interesting. When Williams returns they will have two grind it out move the chains RBs in Evans and Williams with enough speed to break one if the defense gets sloppy. They will also have two very good 3rd down RBs in Henderson and Gaskin. The Rams now can play situational football with the RBs. First downs or ahead of the chains they have Evans and Williams. Behind the chains passing downs they have Henderson and Gaskin.

McVay is weaponizing his RB room. IMO this seems to tell me that McVay is serious about making a playoff run. This first 6 games were finding out if the OL was as good as he hoped, How to play his WRs (Kupp, Nacua and Atwell = Kupp, Woods and Cook.) and in 2018 they made their SB appearance under McVay.

The offense now looks fine. It's the defense that now needs to be squared away. It will be interesting to see who fills DK's former spot.

I kinda like this group better top to bottom than what we had before? Henderson is a weird case where he was never bad for us. Not sure what happened and why he got cut. Royce is the biggest back we've had since Malcom Brown I believe. I even like gaskin in a pinch.

.

So the whiners look like they will have everyone available for their next game and the rams lose both their rbs and replace them with the jaggiest of jags?

Who saw that coming after Sunday?

.

I remember liking his Huskies footage prior to the 2019 draft ... was picked up by @BonifayRam in the 2019 Mock ..

Hope he goes well.

So what does this tell us? Gaskins and Henderson? Does this mean that Kyren’s injury is worse than first thought.
Rams were crazy thin at running back even before kyren for hurt. They had 3 backs in their entire organization that they trusted enough to make the active roster. Adding hendo, gaskin, and freeman means at least one becomes an active roster hold. Maybe this is a tryout for a couple of weeks.
