He hasn't cared until now. He was born in 2008.

They had losing seasons the beginning of his whole life.
He never understood or cared for his dad's masochistic fanaticism toward the Horns.

Then came McVay.

Yesterday...He watched underdog story with me at the theatre. He looked at me after the part where he got called up by the Rams after the Arena Bowl Loss , and saw me misty eyed. In an instant-- he understood more of me -- betty white, 42, john madden (all of it) -- at 13 years old, he was aligned with me-- he appreciated the complex nature of the history of his dad.

Today--he rooted with me. Not like a young man who grew up with Pat Summerall and John Madden-- But like a young man who grew up with an appreciation of his fathers past and present--and simply loved the horns. He loved them for his own reasons. He was invested.

When we sacked them at mid field and ended the game he genuinely freaked out with me. We rocked the house. We gave neighbors cause for concern.
When O'Dell got us the go ahead score -- he stomped on the floor and freaked out with me-- just like I did.

I'm a proud father and a proud Ram's fan.

I'm certain I've passed the torch....and it's about fuckin' time.
ROD Buddhas (@Selassie I and others--I just got to say-- I love all you guys ---Thanks for inviting me to me Rod from the dispatch all those years ago.

Great story and I'm happy for you. Trying to do the same with my son (2009). Started with taking him to his (and my) first in person game this season against the Jags (knew they would get the W, so made a point of that game). And then had him watch last weeks game with me also (with no Ipad or distractions). He's still not yet converted, but I'm hoping it will happen when the Rams win the Superbowl this year in SoFi!!

Beautiful man.
Today and most other Sundays, I've spent my day at my 22yr old daughter's house. She's a legit Rams fan too. She pays attention, watches the games and roots hard.
As odd as it may be, but seeing her develop into a genuine Rams fan like me has been something I'm very proud of.

We freaked out too!

Welp, after reading the posts in this thread, I can't help busting out this pic from Jack Murphy stadium in 2006. They're all still Rams fans as of today!

Brudda... that is fucking awesome.

Moments like that are priceless.

Big Mahalos for sharing that with us man. I'll be thinking about that all day while wearing a big fat smile!

Shout out to your son... he's part of the Ramily now.

My son is 23, only vaguely remembers 2004 playoffs when he was 6 yrs old. So his Ram fandom was tortuous all thorough his school yrs... I almost felt bad for turning him into a Rams fan. So McVay has been a Godsend to him these last 5 yrs and I am glad that he can now enjoy them like I have a good part of my life.

My son has been a Ram fan all along but he never really got it either. He rarely watched a full half. He’s played football since he was 7. He’s almost 15 and this is the first year he’s watched every game in its entirety with me. He plays D-line and has been a huge AD fan. He’s been watching YouTube videos of him and emulating his moves on the field for the last three years.

This year though has been when the switch got flipped on. He’s all about the whole team. He schedules around the games now. He even watched on his phone when they are not on TV and stays up late on school nights.

Just like you, I feel it’s finally happened and I’m loving it.

One more thing...

I had laugh when you said that you guys gave your neighbors reason for concern yesterday.

I know you recently moved and so did I. I lived in my previous place for like 20 years. My old neighbors always used to put the Ram's schedule up so they would understand the reason for the screaming and yelling they might hear coming from my house. That is no lie LOL. I get stupid loud, and I realize this may be hard to believe... but I also use extremely bad language at the same time.

This is my new neighbors first NFL season with me as their neighbor. I started noticing that 2 different neighbors started asking me questions about my Ram Fandom. At first I thought it was just because of the big Ram flag I have hanging outside. Then... I said something to one of them just joking... "you've probably heard me screaming during the games". I said that thinking that there was no way he could have actually heard me. Well, to my surprise he said... "Oh yeah, we've heard you even though we have hurricane windows". He was serious. Luckily he thinks it's cool and even asked if he could come watch a game over at my place. I told him no because he's a colts fan. LOL

My other neighbor always speaks to me when he sees me walking our dog. Now I know why he always assures me that he believes the Rams are gonna win this week. LOL

So.... it's better that your neighbors know the deal. Maybe even offer them a Ram schedule like my old neighbors passed around. Hahahahahahaaaaa
