Hope he's OK -
(but you know who he got that from, right?)
He has partially torn ACL..no surgery required. But he is running a fever so he is getting tested for Lyme disease

It’s hotter than fuck here right now ( and I know it is pretty much everywhere else, and except for late July and August, we don’t have much humidity) point is, one great thing about the southwest, is zero fleas and ticks.
Again, hope the test is negative.

Our previous dog developed bloat (an inversion of the stomach) at age 7. We went through a couple of horrible weeks and thousands of dollars with the vets, but they couldn’t save him.

I don’t regret the expense one bit. Yes, it failed to save him, but he was a family member, and I would do it again without hesitation.

So, X...I get what you’re going through, and I sincerely wish for a better outcome with Molly.

Now... in an effort to lighten things up, here are our current pack members, Snowball and Yeti.

Yeah, sorry, but update.

I had to put Molly down yesterday. Her leg developed an infection from the implant and amputation was the only option left. But her hips are so shot that she wouldn't function with one hind leg. It was an immuno-resistent staph infection too, so we couldn't even treat it with antibiotics without compromising her liver.

We had brought her in just to get the splint changed, so we weren't expecting to have to make that decision. It was the worst day of my life - and as some of you know already - the most painful thing I experienced. I could have waited a few days, but it was aggressive and she would have been in pain the whole time. I wanted to spoil her for a couple of days before doing it, but that would have been more for me (selfishness) than for her.

Big boys don't cry, huh?

Yeah right.

Miss her so damn much.

I’m sorry Paul. That’s terrible, especially having to make the decision. I know I cried like a damn baby when I put mine down. No shame there. Thoughts are with you my friend.

They count on us for everything Paul. She was very fortunate to have you as her Pops. I'm sure she knew that her whole life... and she definitely knows it now.

So sorry for your loss. It's so hard to make that decision. Try and take comfort in the fact that you saved her so much suffering. You did the right thing.

I'm so sorry to hear that, X. You saved her a ton of pain, and no, that doesn't take the pain of losing her away, but at least she isn't suffering any more.

For the record, (don’t heat my pool), water was 67° today.
Very refreshing.

(@Selassie I probably wouldn’t like it).
