Unique makes it a little different. Best would be Linda Ronstadt. Unique for me would like Phoebe Snow, Tracy Chapman or Janis Ian .

First one that comes to mind is Janis Joplin (sp?). Of course Grace Slick comes to mind. Deborah Harry, Ronstadt, Xene Stravinka (sp?), Tracy Chapman and Taylor Swift
You guys that said Celine Dion or Barbara Streisand should promptly turn in your man card.

ha.. didn't say I liked them, just they have a unique voice

Jill Janus of Huntress was incredible when she sang. Heavy metal? Sure, but she was a pioneer in that regard.

Also, unique doesn't necessarily equal talented. Adele is "unique" enough, but she sucks as a singer.

Most “unique”?
I’ll go with
Kate Bush and Dale Bozzio

Most versatile/greatest overall talent?
Linda Ronstadt

Also dig me some Grace Slick, Whitney Houston and a bunch more.
