After analyzing this matchup and the performances of the players throughout the year, besides starting Goff, here are a few more things I would consider.

Robinson continues to mirror Jason Smith and is by FAR the weakest link of all starters on this team. Saffold needs to hold down LT and put both Wichmann and Brown at guards. The truly disappointing thing about Robinson is that his run blocking has been even worse than his pass blocking. For all the hand-wringing over keeping Keenum in place for too long...Robinson has proven over too long that he just doesn't have what it takes.

Austin is fine in the gadget role, but Cooper, IMO, is a better receiver in the slot. For that matter, so is Marquez. Kendricks has been surprisingly ineffective as a run blocker and should be utilized almost exclusively as a pass catcher. Higbee has graded better as a run blocker than Kendricks but that role should truly go to Harkey. Speaking of Harkey, he has quietly become one of the NFL's most effective fullbacks. We should run more plays with him in that position.

My most controversial change would be expanding Benny Cunningham's role as a runner and reducing Gurley's snaps. Benny has simply outperformed Gurley and though it's not all Todd's fault, defenses simply play differently when Cunningham lines up. I am NOT suggesting Benny supplant Todd as the starter as that would have several negative consequences. But for THIS game, I want the ball more in Benny's hands.

On defense, the Dolphin's recent success has been running the ball. However, the Dolphin O-line is no match for AD and Brockers. The Fin passing attack doesn't feature the TE and with Joyner dinged up and needing to get healthy, I'd use Forrest more in this game. Jarvis Landry as the only scary receiver on their roster and Tru needs to exclusively shadow him. Hill and Gaines may be coming on but I would make this a personal challenge to Tru and have him completely focus on that to the exclusion of run and blitz responsibilities.

As far as ST, I wouldn't change a thing. Now that's refreshing.

One last thing, I thought Groh was brought here to upgrade the passing attack. He has shown more creativity lately and with Jared making his first start, I'd like to see a focus on mid range passes on first down and screens to slow down the pass rush. While I thought we became too predictable with the jet sweep last year, I feel we haven't used it enough this year. I would also like to see Goff unhurl deep shots three times on second and short in this game.

Although I agree with you on certain weaknesses in our Offence, I'm not too sure about your solutions.
1) I don't care for the idea of Saffold at LT, even though I agree GRob is a failure their! I wish we could rotate Battle into the spot!
2) I don't care for Wichmann personally, I Like Brown though.
3) I would like to see Cooper and Thomas used a little more.
4) Also, I completely agree on your TE and ST analysis!
And I'm convinced, with Goff, we will see a lot more deep shots down the field to Britt-Quick-Kendricks and Tavon!

To be honest that's exactly what I'd do ... line up heavy set Britt on the outside either three TE (Harkey higs Kendricks) Gurley in the backfield .. or two TE full back .... run a PA ... and let Britt go on a fly route ....

I have to disagree about the OL. GRob has been playing better than he did last year. Jason Smith couldn't hold GRob's jock. The one guy that has regressed is Roger Saffold. He's been terrible at times.

this X2

cooper has done nothing. Marquez? haha no ST at best. but I do agree with BC getting more touches. I think we will see some deep outs and more throws deep middle with Goff well I hope we do.

Have to disagree with you, Grob has been consistently terrible, on top of his terrible play he's a penalty machine too.

PFF is a joke. they blamed GR for 3 sacks and 5 pressures that Keenum ran into. they also take points away for penaltys, also blamed him for RS inability to take handoffs from GR on blocks. anyone watching the games can see Saffold has been worse than GR. he has looked horrible.

Citing PFF just makes me disagree with you more. GRob is not the problem with the OLine. Moving Saffold, who's been horrible at LG most of the year is a terrible idea. Not only is he not good this year and should be cut in the offseason but every time we play him at tackle he gets hurt.

To me, and I'm by no means an expert, I think Saffold's best position is at RG! I say put him there and leave him there.

I don't know what kind of rainbow vision sunglasses you guys been watching the games with but G Rob has been horrid this year. I still think we should move him inside to guard which would play heavy to his strengths.

As far as penalties go his a machine. Always doing shit to f up a drive. Need Saffold and him to switch.

While I agree that Saffold wasn't playing well, his last few games have been better and his overall grade has improved substantially if you pay any attention to PFF, RS is grading high 70's in pass pro, low 70's rush blocking. GRob grades at 41 in pass pro, remains mired in the 30's at pass pro, both terrible scores. Afraid i'm gonna have to go with the OP on this one, if we want to improve the offense outside of Goff, GRob should be benched for awhile while Wichmann (Grading 73.9 in pass pro, 68.6 rush blocking) is moved back to LG and Brown (75.1 pass pro, 75.1 rush block) goes back to RG. jmo.

GRob is still only 24 years old. I know it's not looking good but lets hold off on Jason Smith comparison. GRob does commit penalties that are unforgivable(but sometimes it's better to hold a guy that's going to blow up the QB resulting in not only 10 yard loss but a loss of possession) but he also gets screwed a lot. And to defend Smith he did suffer a pretty devastating head injury very early in his career...but still, you're better than that Linehan.

Yeah, there will always be guys who trash PFF for their grading, and that's fine, we all get an opinion, but there will also be guys who can judge for themselves, then use PFF as a guidepost to what they have already witnessed and whether you are seeing the same thing others are, on this I would give PFF a grade in the 90's myself. jmo.

after watching Saffold play no way in hell should he be in the 70's in blocking anything.
