You are the one misreading it.

Take some time off to think about it
Seemed pretty obvious to me Bayless’ point was all of a sudden an important game suddenly seems so irrelevant after a unspeakable tragedy to a player on the field having CPR administered followed by being taking off the field in an ambulance, there was no way that game was going to continue

Skip = Douche; but he was just saying out loud what the NFL is desperately trying to figure out:

How do you postpone the last week 17 game with no bye weeks left in the season?

Look at the calendar and do the math. Unless they can finish the game this week AND have both teams playing again next weekend, the NFL postseason is very compromised (can't really move the superbowl date).

Buffalo flew home, so I doubt they are replaying the game tomorrow. A Wednesday game might require 2 MNF games next week.

Maybe they just declare it a draw and those teams move on to week 18 (this may gift the chiefs the top seed in the AFC, but probably best solution)?

They might have to go this way, it might be the best solution. The key here is 100% focus on Damar Hamlin, everything else can be worked out.

His grammatical error is telling. Did he mean to say But Why instead of But How? It does come off rude when he says which suddenly seems so irrelevant, because he may be using it in wrong context. He was careful with how he tried to word it regardless. Bottomline he didn’t have to say all that, but not once in the tweet did he show concern for the player. Just sayin’.

This is a unique situation. Not everybody is going to "say" the right thing. Skip Bayless? He was speaking the truth. Booger? He was scaring the hell out of everybody talking about death. When I was watching the game, I was sure the kid was dead. CPR for almost 10 minutes. Put him in the ambulance, yank him out and give him more CPR? Defibulator?

Truth is, this game IS important for the integrity of the 2022 season. What's the right answer? A tie is BS because Cincinnati was winning. A win for Cincy is BS because there was 3/4 of the game remaining. A win for both would screw both Kansas City and Baltimore. Permanently cancelling the game would screw both of them. There is no "right" answer. I would figure unless the Bills want to forfeit, this is going to have to be resolved by playing the game. And playing the game towards the end of this week (like they did during covid) is going to screw both Buffalo and Cincinnati even if they each play a MNF game.

Bottom line is life is more important than football. So I think they want to wait to see what happens in the next couple of days. Discussions have probably been going on throughout the night. In the end, it sucks more for the kid than it does for the fans, the teams and the league. And again, there is no right answer.

I do know one thing. Fans will think twice before severely criticizing a player in the foreseeable future. But that will pass.

So the hit probably stopped his heart, he was recessitated but his lungs are not working with out manual ventilation. Hope he recovers but this seems like there may be something deeper that happened after his heart stopped.

I think when Skip says “which suddenly seems so irrelevant” it’s referring to how HE feels. There are two truths here. The game has huge implications, AND the player being in critical condition in the hospital makes all that feel SO irrelevant.

Skip didn’t say it feels so irrelevant to others, so he’s talking about his own feelings here, hopefully.

The problem is that he’s talking about the game’s importance at all. That’s why it feels terribly off.

This is about Damar right now. Screw the game in this instance. Prayers for Damar and his family.

Just saw this. Oh my fucking fate...

I just hope Hamlin makes it out all right and without brain damage.

Let's not allow asshat Bayless' poor communication and click seeking to get us at odds with each other. He's nothing but a media whore. Fuck him.

Nobody should give a fuck what spews out of his hole.

Bayless makes a living annoying people. It is easy to read him as in his obnoxious tone he sells.

I doubt very much he was referring to the game not the player. In that context I felt the same. The enormity of the game became irrelevant.
