Yeah, I can't believe Stafford doesn't realize that he has a legitimate chance to make a deep run next year. For a guy who claims to have set a goal to get into the HOF, why quibble over an extra $7M-10M if it ends up landing you in New York behind a shaky OL. For a guy who has had career earnings of over $300M, I will think a little less of him if he does that. Especially if Rodgers comes here and plays for a lot less to make his one last run.
Not so sure. This is still a business and if I were Stafford I'd be feeling a bit funny about guys like Trevor Lawrence, Jordan Love, and Tua Tagovailoa making more money on average per year than me, too. And I'd guess the NFLPA is in his ear, too. Plus, I might even be cocky enough to think I could turn things around in New York with some additions.

I am sure a guy like that believes he can make a difference anywhere, but then again, after going through what he did in Detroit for so many years, why go back into a potentially bad situation to end your career?

OK. EVERYONE. Let’s keep to discussing points and opinions and refrain from making it about the poster. ... check yourselves.

If it continues I’ll just start banning people from this thread.

Russell Wilson’s highest offer on the free agent market last season was practically the league minimum. Are you seriously comparing him to Stafford or do you just not know any better???
His offer was that because he was already getting paid from the Broncos. Anything above minimum would have offset that. I've actually considered if we do end up losing Stafford, would Russ be any worse then ARod? Russ didn't have much in the way of weapons in Pitt last year and they still made the playoffs. I dunno. Spit ballin.

Taking into account that Stafford could up and retire after this season and leave us high and dry (not to mention a ton of dead cap as well, cuz why not have retired players count AGAINST the cap)? I hate living with that uncertainty as well. IF we can get a good trade in return, personally, I think it puts the Rams in a better position for the next 10 years. But yeah, not this next season.

I don't want to be in a shit show next season.
There are no guarantees in life, but I think unless Stafford wins a Super Bowl next year or suffers a devastating injury, he'll be back in 2026.

Hope you're right but I have had a very bad feeling about this for a while now.

I want them to sign Stafford.

But I do have a theory that the snow may have helped the Rams more than it did the Eagles. The Rams pass rush was much more effective in the playoff game, than it was earlier in the year. Those taller cut, heavy offensive linemen didn’t look like they anchored well on the snowy field.
You may be right but the snow really picked up on the Rams last drive.

Who was the last Rams player that got permission to test the market and wore horns the next season? I can’t think of one. :weary:

. . . he can negotiate with any club through April 19. If the restricted free agent signs an offer sheet with a new club, his old club can match the offer and retain him because the qualifying offer entitles it to a “right of first refusal” on any offer sheet the player signs. I can't believe I'm reading this thread. I must be f*kking bored.
Amen. I fell victim as well. Literally nothing new or interesting in the last, oh say......90 pages of this thread, haha.

Only thing I will add is that as talented as Stafford is, he did precisely jack shit (playoff wise) until he joined McVay. If they move on from him, I have faith that the Rams will be OK.

A lot of piling on in this thread, this is a message board it's full of opinions whether you agree with them or not no need to go through each post by that person and leave a emoji

I always wonder if Matthew has ever been to Stafford, a town in the midlands over here in England.

He could do a UK tour with former Rams quarterbacks Sam Bradford, Baker Mayfield and Scott Covington. There's a large Asian community in Bradford (its nickname is "Bradistan") and you get some excellent curries there.

This Awful thread (my opinion) contains some horrendous takes (again, just my opinion), nasty, aggressive and even offensive comments.

However, this post is clearly the most disturbing.
