To that I say, all it takes is a bidding war between 2 desperate ass teams. I don't think its delusional at all. If Stafford is truly a stud to other teams, if I'm the Rams, I ask them to prove it in draft compensation. I just pretty much am in the mindset of ya never know. Besides, Snead owes us this after all the shitty compensation he's gotten in the past lol
To that I say dream your big dreams. I think the best we'll end up getting is 1st round value meaning a 2nd and conditional next year. But it doesn't hurt to shoot for the stars.

Obviously not stating that you, myself, or anyone else wants a trade to go down, but if the Rams can get back a top 10 pock, would you feel better about the trade?

No.
The past two seasons have been great fun; and the Rams have been a Super Bowl caliber team.
Stafford has been terrific in crunch time and the playoffs.
With Stafford, the Rams are still a Super Bowl contender.
Without Stafford, they are not.

In any given season, there are maybe 8-10 teams with a chance; It's tough to be one of those teams.
Don't give that up.

That's ok Rams fans think they'll get a top 10 pick and a 2nd or 3rd for them :D The homer glasses know no bounds.

Yeah, I can confirm this. Sports radio in the NYC area is amazing for its ineptitude.

A guy named Sal Licata has a morning show on a top station. This idiot insisted for three days that Stafford had an Opt-Out in his contract.
The shame of it is that I heard Evan and Tiki talking about it. They are just about the only somewhat sensical guys on that station. Sal licata can Licata my ball sack. He’s such an a hole

If the glasses fit :D
It’s a shoe. Get your fucking metaphors right.

I honestly have never suggested that. I’m guessing that is in line with what the Rams are asking. I can’t imagine they are going to take much less. Of course, that is yet to be determined.

Aside from compensation, how much respect for Stafford would it show if we took a shitty compensation package for him? We’re not NOT taking the dead cap hit AND letting someone steal him. That would be like throwing out the trash.

EJ I can understand. He wasn’t really an hugely important cog in our system. He was probably not cooperating.

Matthew is a different animal in every aspect. You KNOW teams would be salivating over the thought of having him at QB for a couple years.

His best fit is here though. And I think other teams recognize this as well. But you have to wonder. He’s the elite QB that you just don’t see come around very often. He’s a rare breed.

Grasping for a mere shot at the Lombardi will make FOs do some pretty drastic things. Hell… saving their jobs will make them shoot for the stars.

I’m thinking it will take a 1st + to get Stafford from the Rams.

Time will tell.

My whole thinking is 1st round value not necessarily a 1st rounder. Especially with the 2 teams that seem to be most likely or pushing the hardest to trade for him. We're not getting pick #3 or #6 unless we give them 26 and a sweetener IMO.

If I'm the Rams, I play hardball and don't let him go without a first. It can include a pick swap this year (e.g., the Rai-duhs 1-6 for our 1-26) or a 1st rounder next year (with other draft capital this year), but I think the Rams should draw a very hard line with regard to that. They already stated that a 1st would be the asking price. They already have Stafford under contract and are under no obligation to let him go without the right price.

Of course because you're a Rams fan. But like has been quoted many times this is a 3 part deal. Also it really isn't a fail if we get a 2nd rounder this year and a conditional 3rd next year. That's damned good value that's a mid 1st round pick value.

Of course they state that a 1st round pick is the asking price that's basic negotiations you don't open up with a low bid and hope for the best that somebody meets it.
