Wow. People can’t do crap to have fun anymore without someone being an idiot and ruining lives. I hate that my children are going to grow up with this.
It is strange times we live in.
Just have to try to make sure the news doesn't color reality.

The sad thing is, the cycle after this is going to be the same.

Everyone will post a status update to get likes.

Twitter will furiously slam on their keyboards at the government to "do something"

People will argue back and forth over the internet.

Which will go over in about a week.

All the while the real source (addressing mental health, drugs, gang activity, and helping poor communities) of this issue gets ignored.

Rinse and repeat.

Sad man, just sad.

Apparently one of the gamers who lost in the tournament was the shooter.

Senseless.

Senseless. And yeah, it does sound like someone who lost in the tourney. I've played Madden in small tourneys before, and it's super competitive. Lots of trash talking too, during (and especially after) the game. This sounds like someone who couldn't handle defeat, is way too easily riled, and who has absolutely no control over his emotions. Volatile mix when someone like that also owns a gun.

Police have identified the suspect in a mass shooting at an online gaming tournament in Florida that was partially captured on a horrifying livestream.

David Katz, 24, killed himself and two others, and left 14 people injured in the chaotic shooting at the the Jacksonville Landing complex in Jacksonville at around 1.34pm on Sunday, police said.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office confirmed there were multiple fatalities and injuries and said one suspect, a white male, was dead at the scene.

An official close to the investigation said that the gunman killed himself with the semi-auto handgun used in the shooting, which had a laser sight.

Witnesses have said the shooter was a player who had just lost in the tournament.

Last time I was at The Landing was when a bunch of us from here at ROD tailgated there at the Hooters before the Ram game last year. I saw it on the news earlier when they were reporting this.

You just never know anymore. Very sad.

Maybe it wasn’t the tournament. Maybe he got kicked out of the band.

Sorry. A little dark humor there.

You pegged him snowflake narcissist with no depth. Probably medicated from second grade.

Yeah man, sad. This place was right next door to that Hooters we met at then. Crazy world we live in. I could talk about what I feel strongly what are the root causes for this behavior but it'd end up getting way too political here.

Yeah, we had a good time partying that night.
It's a shame this jerk has to mess up so many people's memories of that place.

I have a feeling due to several factors, mostly the shooting, that they'll be tearing it down soon.

Apparently one of the victims of the shooting is sueing EA the creator of the video game. I didn't read the article about it, so I don't know how they are linking EA to responsibility for the shooting.

EA has money.

I loathe EA as a company but even that's ridiculous to me.
