Right, the scheme is soft. I think Morris is trying to cover what are in fact roster weaknesses in the middle and in some of secondary.

In the middle of the 2Q they finally put more guys on the line but then immediately gave up longer passes.

Obviously it's not working. Certainly not against a team with the intelligence to exploit the soft coverage zone. And even less without timely and correct adjustments to stop the bleeding before it's fatal.

Making me laugh, still looking for a reason to be mad at other Rams fans even after the GDT last night. You seem upset by the phrase and don't seem to get what we're saying. Maybe a former NFL player former NFL scout and current NFL analyst will get the point across.

Him using "soft" is just click bait bullshit... he knows that will get re-tweeted by the same cliche lovers.

He also used that often loved arm chair phrase "hit in the mouth"

Not sure why youre even defending it. It's our opinion and you have yours. Let's move on and hope they start to play better football

We have trouble tackling Deebo... but he also leads the nfl in RAC - so most teams have trouble tackling him.

Well in baseball when batters consistently dig in and hog the plate the great pitchers throw some chin music and that usually puts a stop to it from that batter and the rest of the team that that shit isn’t going to fly.

In football when a WR does what Deebo was constantly doing your secondary needs to send a message and instead of playing the ball all the time zero in on the WR and light that mother fucker up. That usually puts a stop to that shit and sends a message to the other WRs.

In watching last night our RBs and WRs were getting lined up and popped every time they got the ball while our defenders were bouncing off guys all night. It was obvious to me who got outplayed physically.

Say what you want and I think the Tenn loss was more on Stafford, but their defense pushed us around. If we play like we did last night we aint winning anything this year. Next off season we need to focus on both lines and get tougher on both sides of the ball as the rest of our team is solid. I definitely lost some confidence in this team this year as is but believe we will be favorites next year if we address the lines which we really didn't this off season.

The Rams have been physically dominated on both sides of the ball over the past couple weeks. In Week 9, the Derrick Henry-less Titans beat the Rams 28-16 while sacking Matthew Stafford five times and picking him off twice. The 49ers on Monday night intercepted two Stafford passes -- one for a touchdown -- while pressuring him throughout and sacking him twice. It's a curious trend for a Rams offensive line graded by Pro Football Focus as the best pass-blocking unit in the NFL. Stafford has been terrible under pressure over the past two games, completing six of 18 passes for 37 yards. On Monday night, the Niners defense overwhelmed the Rams, especially when LA was forced into obvious passing situations. Cooper Kupp is likely the only Rams player who can withstand the team's offensive struggles. Sean McVay will try to right the ship during the Rams' Week 11 bye.

Football games are won and lost at the line of scrimmage most of the time - but to simply say a team is "soft" because the other team won that battle is laughable.

Our issues with the 49ners are style and scheme - they have shit to do with "soft"

If the Rams suddenly ran the ball 75% of the time - they would suddenly not be soft anymore?

It's all relative dude. These guys aren't playing RoD in a pickup game. They're playing other teams who are hitting them in the fucking mouth.

If they can't adjust to it, they're not gonna be a threat do to shit in the playoffs. And that's assuming they get there, which, given that loss to SF, I am not fully sure of.

I had a lengthy post about this in the Woods ACL thread before the game. I don't think our players are soft at all. Not on defense. That's not accurate. I do believe that offensively McV is calling far too much of a finesse(soft if you like) type of game plan the last couple weeks and overall at times this season.

The Akers loss contributed to this but last night was EXACTLY the type of game where Sony Michel can help. Slamming Hendo into LB's shooting the gaps is not the answer vs TENN & SF. Neither is throwing the ball 30 yds downfield when you need 8 yards.

The Rams(offensively) are not being put in position to impose their will in these type of games. It's either horizontal screens, quick outs or 40 yd bombs...with a finesse run game that disappears when they get behind.

The D certainly got run the fuck over in the 1st half but felt like they cleaned it up a bit in 2nd half, but of course then the secondary watched Deebo play catch & run on 3rd downs(horrible). I'm not too concerned with the D right now actually. They got outcoached.

The offense concerns me alot. Especially the gameplanning. Tough week with all the shuffling, but IMO that's even more reason to reel it in a bit and just line up and play chain mover football w/Michel, Kupp, Higbee and take your shots once you establish the trenches.

If i could sum up my frustration w/this offense lately....
[1st and 10] "Get 4 or 5 yards here"

[2nd and 10 or 2nd and 9 now] "Ok get 5 yards here and make it 3rd & manageable"


[3rd and 8] "Ok it's doable"
[Rams throw incomplete 25 yds downfield]

Just get the 5 fucking yards!!! I feel like we can get 5 yards whenever we want yet i see 2nd and long over and over, and see deep throws when we only need 5 yards. Maddening.

It's one thing to call a scheme "soft". We hear about soft zones and soft coverages, etc.

But to call a grown NFL player... a grown ass man... soft? Anyone lining up to call AD "soft"?

I think I'd rather try to call Jim Everett "Chris"...
