The Los Angeles Rams agreed to terms with defensive tackle Dominique Easley on a one-year deal

Keeping him with the team after he missed all of last season with a torn ACL, the club announced Monday.Easley signed with Los Angeles as a free agent prior to the 2016 season, when he recorded 3.5 sacks in a situational role @ a $1.85 Million cost in 2018 salary cap.

Easley, 26, was a first-round pick of the New England Patriots in 2014 out of the University of Florida. He has 39 tackles and 6.5 sacks in 38 career games. He suffered a torn ACL -- his third major knee injury, dating to his college days -- during 2017 training camp.

Rams need the depth. Read is ACL is stronger now. Hope so. He is better as a reserve with 20 snaps per game. He gets pressure which the Rams need.

Currently Rams depth @ DL is good but it can be improved. Easley appears to me to be a great 3 tech post back up in the Wade D. Last season that role was filled by 6th rd selection Tanzel Smart after the Easley injury & IR. Next year @ this time the Rams will have four of their presently signed DL'ers in free agency:

Aaron Donald UFA
Dom Easley UFA
Ethan Westbrook UFA
Morgan Fox RFA

Easley can play the Brockers 5 tech post too & in the Wade Nickle rush line play any of the four posts. Easley has been a serious pass rusher from the DT posts. I am looking forward to seeing how Easley plays in the Wade D! If Easley can return to where he was before this 2017 ACL tear, he will improve this DL cadre.

This sign also provides additional insurance if the AD contract talks get sour & stinky. I wonder when Snead & Wade will move onto bring in some run defenders into this DL?

I'm sure he still has that quick first step. This is a valuable, under rated signing. He's alittle more than JAG to me.

This is very good. Easley can really get after the qb. Have to see how his knees are going forward but hopefully they are ok.

Imo this is low risk high reward.

So then we agree? I think you accidently pushed "Different Opinion" on my post above yours.

Irregardless, Go Rams! I missed Easely last year coming in with fresh legs in the 2nd half.

Sorry!! Agree and meant to reinforce your comment. It’s the iphone keyboard which is responsible once again for any of my posting errors of any kind.

We need a ROD over/under on how many games he'll be able to play this year. I'll take the under too. :p

Hopefully he can stay healthy. I'd love to see him in the rotation.

Glad to have him back...we need the depth and Easley can play..

If the guy can ever keep his knees intact for more than one season in a row he'd be a great player. Hopefully we can get a few more years out of him as he is a great rotational rusher and the perfect guy to come in when Donald goes out.

I think he could “Easley” be productive. I just hope he won’t “Easley” end up on IR again. Nice to have him back!
