I was just taking a peek at the schedule after our upset today, and I really think this team could win out and steal a wildcard spot. Arizona is the only sure fore playoff team we face the remainder of the way, and even that game is at home and very winnable. I think this game coming up in San Diego will be very telling to how the rest of the season will unfold. Truthfully thoug, if our d continues to play the way it did today, and our o protects the ball and controls the clock, I see no reason why we can't finish perfect or at very least 9-7/8-8.

10-6.

I suggested the same at the end of the game on the game thread, PA. Welcome aboard the U.S.S. ROD if you haven't been formerly greeted.

We will kill with Hill!!!

It's possible....but this team needs to play every game one at a time. Because as young as they are.....they'd be working out situations for the last week while getting their butt beat in week 13.
This should be their manta....1 game.

just like what Mike Smith's preaching in Atlanta.. be 1-0 every week

speaking of Atlanta.. that division looks like the NFC west a few years ago :ROFLMAO: someones gonna get in with 7 wins

The second that they determine the remainder of their schedule is easy is the second that they will have lost. There is no team in the NFL that is easy to beat if you don't take them seriously. Even the Raiders will be a challenge. I'm hoping they win out but they have to maintain focus.

Beat SD and then you got a Oakland and NY. I'm actually more anxious about the Oakland game. That team is freaking scrappy.

I've been joking with friends all week that I wouldn't be surprised if we beat Denver than lose to Oakland because of how inconstant we have been... Now I'm nervous!

I completely agree we need to take it one game at a time and by no means was I Mai.ing in my order for playoff tickets. I was simply implying that it's an exciting time to be a Rams fan, and if everything is pointing in the right direction, we very well could be playing meaningful football into December, which would be a nice change haha.

At home against the Cardinals and @Seahawks look to be the toughest games.

But let's not look past San Diego who is 6-4, including 4-1 at home. Rams really need to keep up the high level of play on D (which is carrying this team). The key, just like with Denver, take away the San Diego running O (which is not very good @ 3.1 ypc, worst in the NFL) and make their O one dimensional. On O, protect the ball, run the ball (San Diego allows 4.4 ypc, compared to Denver who was allowing 3.2 ypc). Run the ball + take care of the ball + stop the run + force turnovers from one dimensional O = win. San Diego had lost 3 games in a row against good teams, got their bye week and squeaked by the 0-10 Raiders.

The Rams might have snuck up on Denver a bit. You can be pretty sure they aren't sneaking up on anyone the rest of the year after beating Denver like they did.

I actually don't believe 10-6 gets us a WC. Packers look primed to win their division and DET could very well finish 11-5. Then Philly could go 10-6 and they have the tie breaker. Then there's that small chance we don't win out.

I just think we let too many get away too early. In hindsight, I think we would have won a couple more games with Hill. Dang shame...

But hey, I'm already making plans to go to toe OAK and ARZ games so color me optimistic.

If we would win out and not snag a wildcard, disappointed would be an understatement. But at least it would show that our Rams are definitely heading in the correct direction!!!

I certainly can see us beating WAS, OAK, NYG if we play to our potential, and not down to the competition. But winning all 3 of the other 3: @ SD, AZ, @ SEA is a tall task.

IF and I stress IF we win out I think we do have a legit shot. In this WIN OUT 10-6 scenario:
  • SEA needs to lose ONE more game the remainder of the way, aside from wk 17 (if we both finish 10-6 we have the 2-0 head to head tie breaker)
  • SF needs to lose TWO more games. If they lose ONE to either AZ OR SEA in 3 games 3-3 is the best case scenario for their divisional record. But in the win out scenario for us we'd go 4-2 in the division, meaning we'd hold the divisional tie breaker record vs SF.
I know a lot of over thinking for a win out scenario, but imo if we go 10-6 SEA & SF are the only teams that could keep our Rammies out of the playoffs. Every week we win just keeps the dream alive

We're going to lose every game from here on out, 4-12 here we come.

(Every time I think we're going to get our asses whupped we win, every time I think we have a chance we get our asses whupped.)

good thing the schedule makers threw SD game in between Denver and Oakland

The defense keeps playing well and Hill just manages the game while taking a shot down field once in a while and they have a chance in every game.
