Yeah, Americans don't have to really adhere to Royal Etiquette in that they have to bow or curtsy, because we're not Royal subjects. But I do think it's important to acknowledge their status and importance to their Country and not grope them. I'm probably a little bias because I've studied the history and culture of the Royal Family, dating back to The Plantagenets, and find it really fascinating. I obviously don't agree with everything they've done over the years, or even support much of it, but it's fascinating to me nonetheless. Sometimes I think I'm reincarnated from the Middle Ages, because I'm always drawn to that stuff for some reason.

LeBron James is pretty much America's king. He's referred to as the King. Aren't royals allowed to embrace each other?

Would you kiss Michelle Obama on the mouth in front of the POTUS?

Royalty isn't elected over there. Only Parliament.

I'd not only kiss her I'd slip her a little tongue to let her know I was available, then I'd discreetly slide my hotel key into her purse.

Wills needs to sort his barnet out though don't you think? Looks awful. Needs to shave it off or get a weave!

fookin man whore !!!

I doubt even they care, they like us have a lot of rules that really don't make sense in this new, modern time, but are kept simply in formality that nobody really enforces unless somebody points it out.

Interesting thread. I would have been in the same boat as King James. I don't know shit about their customs across the pond. If I was in their country,,, I'd pay much more attention to cultural differences. They're in the U. S. A. ... and they were being given some serious extra attention because of "who" they are. If they take offense to the hospitality of KING James... they shouldn't leave their homeland.

As a King myself,,, in fact, The KING of Kings,,, I will just go ahead and pardon the young King James.

What's going on behind the jersey? Looks like the Prince is curious too.

Oh, and yeah...someone needs to get the prince an appt with whoever did Daniel Tosh' plugs, haha. That looks like a pube farm on the top of his noggin...

LOL!! Keep this kind of pompous attitude up and we just might have to break away from England and do our own thing over here.

Who gives a fucking shit about the "royals?"

Especially Royal Duchess herself who hasn't done a damn thing in her life to this point and likely won't and has a name because she married someone who isn't anything more than a figurehead himself?

I try not to let the shit media piss me off these days, but damned if I'm not sick and tired of the American obsession with British Royalty.

Why would you be upset if I'm interested in that? I'm not lobbying for a Monarchy in the US. I just find the history of the British Empire really interesting, and am somewhat of a History buff myself. With regards to what the Royals do to earn their powers or positions, it's no less offensive than our own Political leaders and how they obtain and misuse their own individual powers as representatives of the people.

Yikes. That was borderline political, so that's all I'm gonna say about that.

hah. You're fine bro. I wasn't ranting at you. I was ranting at the American Royal obsession in general (and not from a historical standpoint), but then, with a journalism background, my hate is a little more honed than most.

Nothing was more vomit inducing during undergrad than walking into the J-Lab with that horse shit wedding coverage and everyone losing their minds about it.

meh. They get a fancy title because great great (times w/e) grandaddy had a shit load of money and dubbed himself ruler of the ether. Not quite the same, but I kinda see your point.

I personally know a few people who are interested in the history of the Royal Family and follow them. I know one woman who has read so many books about them she could probably write one of her own!

hah. With my dad, it's Lincoln. I think he's read about 25 books on him now.

That's also a fascinating topic to a large number of people. I've caught a few documentaries over the years and they are always fun.

Well that I can understand (your problem with it). I'm not interested in fairy tales or extravagant weddings either. Or the social media frenzy generated by it.

I allow myself one very stupid post each day and this is it.

It is The Duchess of Cambridge that should be apologizing for touching the great King James.
