I know everyone loves to harp on how he shoulda moved to FS earlier but lets not forget, McCloud, McDonald, and Alexander were all quite productive at safety while Joyner provided much needed help in the nickle. as great of a move it was to move Joyner to FS, it may not have happened without signing another good nickle cb in NRC. sometimes you gotta make sacrifices for the betterment of the team

:nice::admin: :wabbit:My #1 Defensive UFA Target!

LJ is sure to draw some serious FA offers once FA-cy begins don't be surprised if over 30 NFL teams seek his services with wheel-barrels full of $$$.:(

I have already deleted Trumaine Johnson from my future Ram plans when the season concludes.

If lets say Demoff & Snead are able to secure the future services of three UFA Ram DB's....#1. Our most versatile DB Lamarcus Joyner who plays the Nickle, both safety posts & outside corner. #2- Nickell Robey-Coleman who can play outside corner & the Nickle plus deep safety Cody Davis. IF that were to happen & Tru departs for the Raiders, 49ers or the Steelers or Browns....the Rams would then have 3 fully capable corners types (though small) beginning with Webster who has 5 seasons under his belt, NR-C who is a 5 yr vet & safety Cody Davis who is a 5 yr vet that works well in the Wade scheme ....to go with youngster 3rd round 2017 selection JJ the 3rd for a decent standard core Five player secondary.

Rams can if they desire easy enough resign corners Troy Hill :cautious:, & they already have corners Peterson & Hatfield along with safeties Countess & Christian who been active this season to assist Wade "D" too. So if you added in the draft a few bigger taller corners utilizing 2 of the 3 {3rd 4th 5th or our three 6th rd selections}.... to go with what we have already have it would put Wade in good not great situation .

Signing 3 Ram DB's LJ, Cody & NR-C would cost in 2018 a bit over what it cost for just Trumaine Johnson cost us this 2017 season. Thus saving that First rounder to secure the BPA for a starter @ Edge Rusher or run stuffing, space eating Nose Tackle or future starting LT. Fact is you can usually get a quick return in you investments in DB in the starting element.

Yeah he's having a great season. And how many of those safeties can also be a shutdown nickel CB in a pinch and give a DC that flexibility?

Just throw him on that immense pile of football decisions awaiting the Rams this offseason. Snead is walkin through a damn minefield this time around, hope he's ready for it.

I do think that he is one of those players that truly does not care about the money, he just want to play and seems like he wants to be loved by his coaches and teammates. I think he has found that here.

lb for lb once of the hardest hitters there is. he is fun to watch.

Special instincts, and athletic ability . We need to lock him up.

Only worry with him is longevity since he is alot smaller than almost every safety in the leauge .
He has been pretty healthy though.

When I pointed him out to my wife, when he was on the field, she thought he was too small until she saw some of the plays he made. That pick was a thing of beauty. He is playing really well. Reminds me of the safety who played for Indy a few years back. Although Joyner may be small in size, he can bring the wood and can cover the field.

Joyner is giving up a QB Rating of 22.7 on 27 targets. Basically, you cannot throw over top of the Rams with Joyner back there. He's PFF's #4 safety with an elite rating of 90.7.

We must lock him up.
Fantastic News! Who's ahead of him if he's ranked #4!!?! I always thought he should be Playing Safety!

Bob Sanders. First player I thought of when watching his college tape. Joyner is healthy too.
