16? Was a write in ballot to clarify :handshake:

Not a popular pick I suppose, almost a light hearted joke

Now get back to you kitchen and surprise the world with your greatest Hawaiian pizza ever, I’ll take 10% and be happy :laugh2:

Well, I was highly annoyed by the 12 inches of snow I got Sunday into Monday but now I will gladly take the sore back and shoulders from three hours of shoveling and having to go a little slower while driving over having to run for my life to keep from being burned alive while losing everything I own. Perspective is a cold bitch sometimes.

Sadly, I do have a Hawaiian pizza on the menu at one of my locations.

But it still has nothing to do with a #16.

Water drops are going on and the winds have diminished in the LA county area. Lets hope the winds stays away.
The winds in some areas will be 40mph in some areas.Don’t see SOFI being effected at all.The Rams practice off the 101,so as of now it’s all about the air quality. The fire is on the other side of the Hill though

Strong winds.

Understood. But it's still the middle of winter.

All the catastrophic bushfires in Australia happen in the middle of summer during very high temperature days.

Unheard of in winter. How hot does it get in la during winter?

It doesn’t take much of a fire to take off in high winds.

Especially in a dry climate.

Been watching the news a lot on this. It's really bad down there. The winds are making it so much worse. Praying for everyone down there. Likely moving the game to Glendale.

Yeah, I just watched a story about it on the news. Didn't take long, like a couple of minutes, to go from a spot fire to full blown bush fire.

It hasn't rained there for 3 months? Damn.

Water in the fire hydrants would also be helpful. I dont understand how developers are allowed to build subdivisions in areas that are known to have wildfires regularly.
I've been hearing about the fires whipped up by the Santa Anna winds for over 40 years. The hillsides and canyons are beautiful but not really a wise place to build multi-million $ homes unless they have enough land to actually create a defensible space. These homes are so close together they have no way to protect them from fire.

the fire starts from embers landing on roofs. high housing density actually helps fires from getting out of control because there's less vegetation to go dry. the places that light up like a match have relatively low density and high vegetation.

I've been to a lot of Rams games in Phoenix, having moved to Phoenix from O.C. ten years ago. I will say Rams fans in AZ come out to the games fairly strong over the years, even a bunch where there in Game 2 this season.

If the game is moved to Phoenix, I would bet it would be a fairly strong crowd of Rams fans based on what I've seen out here over the years.

The best solution would be to not allow homes to be built so close together they cannot create a defensible space. I get that its beautiful scenery but if you want to build on it you should be required to have a defensible space if you want insurance.

look up CA fire hardening laws.

i have an acre in Woodland Hills that will one day be the site of a spec home. right now it costs me $20k a year to make sure I keep the property clear of dry vegetation, etc.

I have lost my childhood Elementary School, three childhood homes, my sanctuary which was a hobby shop and countless special places that are the essence of my soul. Including where I fell in love with our Rams and other LA sports teams.

I realize that some believe that it may be stupid crazy to move to this place AFTER the fact of this loss. Most all, including an important friend and mentor of 55 years whom I have no idea how he is or where he is, did not live there for a lifetime thinking that this threat was worth the risk.

We ALL live in areas that can be wiped out by mother nature and at some time, have.

The Pacific Palisades is a place that WAS as special of a place that could be. I am blessed to have spent some of my childhood years there.

My thoughts and prayers are with all who have been affected by this most horrible tragedy.

go rams.
