Sounds to me like the air quality will probably be just fine at Inglewood and SoFi. With much of the city as a "buffer" between the fires and the stadium.

Main issue IMO is whether or not the fires will impact the Rams ability to practice over the next five days, with the air quality being "very unhealthy" currently in Woodland Hills, and could possibly get worse. Gotta think they are considering contingency plans.

This is why I say there are tangential affects that may not be considered by us the average fan. A reschedule or move involves logistics and resources that have to be taken into consideration and only those governing the the situation know the entire picture.

Seriously though. Does CA have a long term proactive plan to reduce the impact of these fires. I’m hearing insurance companies aren’t providing insurance policies for some homeowners. Couldn’t imagine losing everything and then having no insurance for recovery.

I live in Pioneer California, basically between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe. I've lived here 5 years and have evacuated 2 times and been ready to several others.

We could get into politics easily here, but most of us know where the problem lies......as for insurance, in fire zones you haven't been able to get "Fire" insurance since before 2020. This part is not new to Northern California. It breaks down like this.........you get Fire insurance from the California Fair Act plan - ours is roughly $4500 a year. You then get standard Homeowners insurance from various insurance groups as normal. California, (and most states I assume) have fire zones much like Hawaii has lava zones. Prices are set by that.....yes, it all sucks.

yeah - not suprised, but easier to postpone those games.

The market is where it's at because the Insurance Commissioner refused to grant rate increases after the 2017-2019 fire losses and post-Covid spikes in material and labor costs. So instead of dealing with higher premiums now people get to deal with...higher premiums AND fewer insurers offering coverage and the FAIR Plan taking on way more financial stress than it was ever designed to deal with.

This is a fraction of the truth. Being a real estate developer myself I deal with this with ALL of our customers. My company currently has 95 homes projected to be built in the next 12 months and 6 homes (Models) are currently standing inventory. Yes it's true material cost and labor have skyrocketed but for the sake of getting political. Material cost has skyrocketed because of the people in Sacramento and the WH. Insurance companies have ditched California because of the policies in California which has added to the strain of the already flawed "system". Now we're seeing the cascading effect of that system in full swing. With the LA fire department funding getting slashed recently, and the insurance companies abandoning California and now the perfect storm, it's going to get ugly. Not just for the unfortunate LA county residents but the entire state of Ca.

The NFL is closely monitoring the wildfires in Los Angeles ahead of the NFC wild-card game between the Minnesota Vikings and the Los Angeles Rams, scheduled for Monday, January 13, 2025, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

The league is in contact with both teams and the NFL Players Association to assess potential impacts. While the game is currently set to proceed as planned, the NFL is considering alternative locations, such as Las Vegas or Glendale, Arizona, if conditions worsen.

Everything has a price to pay.....if you live in California or Oklahoma there are multiple potential issues. :-)
 
Commently completely outside of the loss of life/property (which I have GREAT concern for with my Aunt living there), to move the game would be awful. We were already going to have a tough time getting more fans then the Vikes, move the game and its a home game for them.

read somewhere fans will be 85% LA according to ticket sales
