Kyren is already one of my fave Rams RBs of all time. The kid has more dog in him than Joey Chestnut on the 4th of July. I can see a world where the Rams extend him at a team friendly rate.

Also, I don't think KDubs wants to play anywhere but for his childhood team....they just happen to play in sunny LA now. You don't just replace a guy with a nose for the EZ like he has, but of course it has to make fiscal sense for both.

Yeah, I think they extend him.

He also seems to have gotten hold of his fumbling problem.

He fits this offense perfectly and via locker room talk he is the guy who brings energy to the offense. You keep players like this, period. You pay players who fit your team. That being said, it has to be a contract that makes sense. Would not go more than 4 years on the deal.

Exactly, McVay loves that type of energy and personality. He's got that going for him as well as his talent, not only running but dang he keeps Stafford upright with some of his blocks.

This day and age (salary cap) I am not signing a running back to a second contract.

It’s all about resources. There was a great article written about the $ value of the position, but I cannot find it… it basically showed the top paid RB’s $ per yard over non-star RB’s is a bad investment overall for teams… and the data was compelling.

You can basically find some article somewhere backing up any argument you choose to make. I would like to see the Rams resign Williams on a reasonable 4-year deal. This is just one less hole to fill, seems like he has earned a second contract.

Stance hasn't changed for me. If the price is right then I get it. But I'd just as soon move on to the next back.

The fumbles have only been a real problem this year. But this year, I get the concern. But the kid plays with such heart and he's a TD machine. IDK what I'd do. I do agree, sure would be nice to have a burner in the backfield.

Kyren Williams will be 25 in the final year of his rookie deal. If they think they can get 2 or 3 more years before his decline perhaps a contract that gives them an out in year 3 of the extension? He's definitely a key piece to this offense.

Only Faulk and Gurley had back to back 15+ Td
Kyren joins them
I don’t know why people think he can just be replaced.
KW is great. That said I want Rams to win an SB.
How many RBs can you name that were the key to their team winning the SB. Faulk is obviously one of them.

He's been great but with the size/build of him and the absolute punishment he's taken the last few years, I still wouldn't extend him.
Agreed. RBs fall off quickly. It was Snead who suggested that extreme caution must be exercised when extending second contracts for RBs.

I did notice that since the Philly game he's been hitting the hole with both arms on the ball.

Has he fumbled since that game?

Make him play out his last season of team control in 2025. If he is upset by that then move him and draft a replacement mid to late rounds to pair with Corum. Hopefully that doesn't happen, as I do value Williams, but supply and demand is real at the position.

Assuming he sticks around... After the 2025 season you talk shop with him and his reps and if he's not unrealistic then give him a three year deal. But I think it is very unlikely he will be open to a reasonable contract. He's going to want to cash in (rightly so) so I'd wish him all the best and move on.

That's definitely part of the concern. He's only 5'9" 202. He's already at 334 touches this year. He had 260 last year. If he puts up another 300ish touches next year, odds are that he'll only have 3 or 4 very productive years left in him. HBs wear down quickly.

It is crazy to think that Kyren Williams already has twice the number of 100 Yard Rushing Games (10/35), that Cam Akers had with the Rams (5/31).

(100 Yard Rushing Games/Total Games played for Rams)

Tell that to the Eagles and Barkley.

The Rams were the best team by far when Gurley was healthy in 2018. Just an unfortunate injury ruined it all. I'd pay him again in a second in the same situation again.

.

We won a Super Bowl with a RB who was far inferior to KW so the idea he is not good enough is a little hard to swallow

I would be amazed if we don’t pay him though would be happy to draft a potential star RB because, as we have seen, that doesn’t necessarily need to happen with an early pick
