I like him. But that’s too much money and too much guaranteed. I’d rather someone else pay that and we instead move onto the younger guys after this year. Sometimes we waste cap space unnecessarily (this, tutu, etc). Wish we were more frugal and smart with the cap and future contract outlays.
Hate to say it, but if it wasnt for Kyren, we wouldnt even had as many wins! Offense was Horrible Last year! I already broke down his "fumble issues" to prove he doesnt have fumble issues. Hes top 3 in most catagories over last few years.

You don’t give out contracts for past performance. You give it out for future performance.
This means he’s the guy for at least three more years (this + first two years of new contract). That covers Corums time and 3/4ths of Hunter - guys we spent a 3rd & 4th on.

Now if we go with a drafted QB post Stafford, money/cap won’t be a problem. If we go with an expensive vet, it will be with the contracts due in coming years.

I love Kyren but would have required him to prove it this year. As it is it's not like we're paying a ton, and the Rams can get out from under it if necessary. But I would have waited is all.

Hope he kills it and rewards their faith in him this season.

The Rams accumulating RBs may reflect a league-wide shift back to more running. RBs sustain injuries at a high rate; they will need a stable full of horses.

The Rams focus on LBs that specialize in stopping the run could also reflect a league-wide shift to more running.

Here's the thing, if he has a monster season then you're going to paying more than what the rams just paid. He's a top 10 RB in the NFL I'd even say top 6. He's a TD machine.
Yeah, I gotta believe this is a 2 year extension when it's all said and done. Sort of a team option for 2028 since he's probably getting the guaranteed money before that third year comes around. And if his production continues it'll be a deal. Even if he levels off a bit, still might be worth keeping around as the #2.

Secretly, I just wanted to see the combo of Corum/Hunter. Now we will never know unless we have bad luck. Personally, I think Corum is on Kyren's level but we may never know.

gotta figure that extra game a year matters in this discussion too

I don’t understand the “prove it” year with Kyren. He hasn’t slumped. He’s consistently gotten better. Yes, fumbles…but he’s top 3 in every major category. There is no prove it needed

I for one am glad the Rams got this done. I think it is fair deal. He is not the kind of guy who is going to get paid and then let his play decline. The only thing that will slow him down is the wear and tear of the job but that is the risk for any player.

I really like Kyren because he is such a high character player. Many overlook the intangibles he also brings to the team along with his steady consistent production. "All he does is score touchdowns"

RB's are underpaid, wow. Cheap deal relative to his production. Glad to have him back.
As one who is not a 1%-er, I can't take a sentence like that seriously about someone who just earned a guaranteed $23M and probably another $10M when all is done.

Take your money, understand that you earn a living playing a game and be grateful.
