Former Super Bowl MVP Cooper Kupp has reached agreement on a three-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Friday.
Kupp was released by the Los Angeles Rams at the start of the new league year Wednesday, ending his eight-season run with the team.
He joined the Rams as a third-round pick in 2017 out of Eastern Washington, as part of Sean McVay's first draft class, and emerged as one of the game's best pass-catchers from the slot in the years since.
He had 62 receptions as a rookie, then topped 90 in both his third and fourth seasons.
But his best season came in 2021, when he won the receiving triple crown by leading the NFL in receptions (145), receiving yards (1,947) and receiving touchdowns (16). He made his only Pro Bowl and was named the NFL's Offensive Player of the Year.
Kupp capped that season with eight catches for 92 yards and two touchdowns in the Rams' Super Bowl win over the Cincinnati Bengals, which earned him the game's MVP award.
After the season, Kupp signed a three-year contract extension worth $80.1 million.
But Kupp has dealt with injuries in the three seasons since, playing in just 33 games. In 12 games during the 2024 season, Kupp had 67 catches for 710 yards and six touchdowns.
After the season, Kupp announced that the Rams were trying to trade him despite his desire to remain with the team. But with him being owed $20 million this season, no other team was willing to make a trade, leading to his release.
For his career, Kupp has 634 receptions for 7,776 receiving yards and 58 total touchdowns (57 receiving).
ESPN's Sarah Barshop contributed to this report.

Not good day, Ramily.

I mean I don't begrudge Coop doing what he needs to but going to the SeaHags ranks about as bad as when Isaac Bruce (and Jack Reynolds) ended up on the Whiners.

Some things just shouldn't happen....

How the fuck were we not able to trade him? There were multiple teams interested in signing him, and he's getting a pretty large contract. Anyways, best of luck, Coop, except when you play us.
Either we misplayed it or gave him the courtesy to find his suitor. Had we traded him he could have ended up somewhere he wasn't thrilled.
All a bit of an assumption while following the process though. It just didn't make sense in black & white

I mean we all saw this coming, right? It’s the classic revenge signing. He gets to see the Rams twice a year. Seattle is going to suck anyway.

Wish him well except when he’s playing against the Rams. Good for him he got his money. All that money won’t change the fact that his body is breaking down. He’s a great leader for that young team but let’s don’t forget that the Seahawks traded away Metcalf and cut Lockett this offseason. They have a good young weapon in Njiba who’s primarily a slot guy. Kupp should help in their run game because he blocks well but the Seahawks haven’t addressed their offensive line and that’s not a recipe for success when you’re running Sam Darnold out there.

Cooper Kupp is staying in the NFC West.

On Friday, days after Kupp was officially released by the Los Angeles Rams, news broke that the All-Pro wideout was signing with the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks were always a top possible destination for Kupp, who grew up in Washington and attended Eastern Washington for college. However, the sticking point with Kupp's free agency was the price. It didn't feel as though teams were falling over themselves to pay the 31-year-old a hefty salary.

The Seahawks didn't seem to share that hesitation. Shortly after Kupp's signing was reported, ESPN's Adam Schefter revealed Kupp's contract details. It's a three-year agreement worth $15 million annually for a total of $45 million.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/cooper-kupp-contract-details-with-seahawks-revealed/ar-AA1AX4IhIt is a high price but not terribly costly relative to Kupp's counterparts around the league. His annual salary puts him above Denver Broncos' Courtland Sutton ($13.75 million per year) but below Cleveland Browns' Jerry Jeudy ($17 million per year). When healthy and rolling Kupp is at least on the same level as those two wideouts.

We cut him because nobody wanted to trade for him ( or his contract). He was free to sign anywhere and there was nothing that the Rams could do.

Wish him well when he plays the Rams? WTF? I hope you just mean health wise as in no big injuries because I hope the Rams fuck him up when they play lol

I'll be very surprised if he stays healthy all season. That's kinda why we got rid of him.
Yeah, that's the question, but if he does, I wouldn't bet against him.
Depends on what they have left in the tank. They picked up D Lawrence also. We'll see how all this plays out.

.

I don't care if he plays well against the Rams. I hope he does.

The seagulls aren't going to win anyway. That Rams dline is something else. What other team terrorised the Eagles line like that line did last season?

Yeah honestly, we should whoop up on them but I just wish he went at least outside of the division. Oh well, I hope we smash him and his new team.
