I agree however not sure I hate the Stetson pick just yet lol. Maybe I'm going rams colored glasses but watching him play watching highlights his accuracy his movements and most impressive his smarts especially with ball placement and a winner there's a Drew Brees thing about him we should be so lucky RT? Lol

As a downtrodden Husker fan I unfortunately endured many Nebraska games last year and was excited to see him transfer in. Boy was I fucking wrong. Makes a couple plays per game and absolutely disappears for the remainder. I sense an utterly wasted pick right here. I would rather have drafted a long snapper with the pick.

Ditto, would rather have had Israel Abanikanda and Bagent (QB in the 7th) than Bennett. I see a less talented, entitled version of Johnny Manziel. Damn, that was just plain mean, oh well.
 
I give it an A-, given where Rams had to make their picks and with Snead unable to trade down from 36.

Some are disappointed with Turner and Bennett, but I’m not. After researching each player I came away kinda impressed, especially considering where they were drafted.

I’m as happy about this Rams draft as I’ve been in many a year.

Very sorry to hear that take. We do have a fantastic DL Coach but yeah we're not gonna hit on all these guys.
 
I as always suggest people listen to what our coach and GM say about the players

All of the above. It's not just the draft it's the players on the roster and players we will sign/trade for. The one that keeps sticking out though from this is Bennett in the two post draft videos.
 
I mentioned this same thing on another thread but here's a partial synopsis from Yardbarker:

"Instead of getting help for Matthew Stafford at No. 73, for instance, Los Angeles traded its third-round pick to the New York Giants -- who proceeded to draft Tennessee wide receiver Jalin Hyatt, the 2022 Biletnikoff Award winner for best college wide receiver -- in exchange for pick Nos. 89 and 128, the latter of which was used on QB Bennett, who was trending in the wrong direction as a likely undrafted free agent in the lead-up to the NFL's big offseason event."

I think it’s our best draft in 3-4 years?

Good starting talent, good potential, and good developmental players.

It irks me they draft short players, not drafting a Kicker makes me think they had Moody targeted but the Whiners took an early swing with him.
 
Seems fine to me. I didn't evaluate Avila, so I don't know how good he is or isn't. But it's nice that they're focusing on the OL and trying to get bigger and stronger at OG. I like our EDGE picks. All three are trait guys with upside. Hopefully, a couple of them turn into contributors. Young has massive upside if he continues to progress. Hampton can really get after the QB.

I love Tre Hodges-Tomlinson. His size will work against him. But he's a phenomenal athlete who sticks to guys in coverage and plays hard. He'll be a menace in the slot imo. Stetson Bennett is an understandable pick. He's a gamer, he's mobile, he manages the game well, and he competes. Don't know if he's a good enough thrower to ever become a starter, but I wouldn't be the first person he proved wrong.

Kobie Turner is a very physical gifted kid whose motor is always revving. His lack of length works against him, but I think he's going to end up becoming a solid to good starter for us. When he plays with proper pad level in the running game, he's a force. And he has the tools to be a solid pass rusher. He just needs to develop his pass rush moves, hand usage, and pass rush plan.

Zach Evans is an explosive HB who runs hard. He didn't get a lot of passing game usage, so that's an open question. He's dealt with injuries, and he's had maturity issues. But in terms of raw talent, he's arguably #3 in this draft. He needs continued development on his skills, and he'll have to learn our zone-based system, but he's a kid who has a lot of upside.

With regard to the others, I don't know a lot about them. I haven't evaluated them. I've read that Davis Allen is a contested catch guy who blocks well but struggles to separate. That seems fine for a #2 TE. From what I've heard about McClendon, he's only an average athlete and lacks the length to stay at OT, but he is a smart, physical player who plays hard. Sounds like solid depth.

For better or worse, McVay seems content to go into the year with Kupp, Jefferson, Skowronek, and Tutu as our top WRs. Hyatt is talented, but we already have a speedster in Atwell. Glad we were able to grab Kobie Turner. And Stetson seems fine as a backup QB. We'll see.

This is my main concern about him while on the field, no real comment on his injuries or maturity but I would like him to be able to play on passing downs in this offense
 
My knee-jerk grade is B+.

Love the Avila pick. Great upbeat personality who will be a team leader soon enough.

First 3 picks all seem like high-character, high-effort guys who will put in the work to be solid pros.

Bennett with a great chance to prove the doubters wrong. Excellent field vision and decision making.

Love where we took Zach Evans... late round flier could be great if he can stay healthy (and grow up a bit).

Wish we didn't have to roll the dice on both P and K. (that contest between Sloman and MAcGinnis and Hirallijualah-whatever was a nightmare)

Worst part for me is the secondary. We had so many holes to fill all over and we couldn't get to them all. Hodges-tomlinson looks like a baller but man he is small. Worst part... who the heck are gonna be the top 4 in our secondary? Rochell or Kendrick as a starter? And are we gonna have to count on Lake, or Yeast, or Fuller, or....?

Love being a Rams fan. McSnead recognized they had to bite the bullet in 2023 in order to pave the way for the future, and they are executing their plan. Got a giant wave of young guys and they'll duke it out to see which ones are legit and which ones will bust. Then in 2024 we can break the bank and make a run at it.
