All I look for is honest objectivity. Now that may be too much to ask for from the media but if he'd said his bit and what I said I'd be applauding. To only tell one side of the story he's painting a picture of himself not the event.

But this is sports reporting, it's not global economics or politics. Heck, I even use the 'reporting' VERY loosely because 98% of it is designed to induce discussion/controversy. When the STL ESPN radio station first came online 5-6 yr ago, I recall hearing one of their 'talking heads' mention that the Mother Ship encouraged them to be controversial...because it drives up ratings.

IMO, any sort of 'objectivity' is a rarity in sports media. It's all getting more & more TMZ'ish all the time.

JT's tears taste delicious! :rolllaugh:

Want to talk about luck? Take a look at the two tipped passes that saved Winston from INTs where the Rams' corners had diagnosed the routes.

It was just one of those games man, but this time around we won. Suck it JT.

Everything you say is true....as is everything JT said. So what.

Some people on this forum need to dial down the sensitivity meter to something less than utter outrage every time a reporter doesn't talk in glowing terms about the Rams. Beginning to sound like a bunch of teenage girls that sat in the front row of a Justin Beiber concert and are upset because he didn't blow them a kiss..

So we should endorse or even embrace this? Everything you said makes me think less of him. It's also not the norm it's shock jock radio a la Howard Stern.

But it's NOT reporting. It's quite obviously sour grapes, saltiness...whatever one wants to call it. JT isn't reporting anything objective. He hasn't done that in years. As a die hard Rams fan i will call out agenda-driven nonsense when i see it...whether it comes from a "journalist", a co-worker or any other yo yo walking down the street or on a message board. Objective criticism is discussion. Obsessive negativity(for whatever reason) is lazy.

I agree 100%

It is objective from his point of view, but that POV used to be softened because the Rams were the home team. The Rams are enemy #1 in the St Louis media, so they will never cut us a break anymore, and that's fine. It's also objective to say that during the Fisher era, we have been more mentally tough than the Bucs. We have found a way to win against them for what, 5 years in a row?

Why are you outraged by someone else's outrage?
Really, these kinds of posts don't do any good at all. You KNOW it's not going to be met with warm embraces.

Posts that rankle on JT for his lack of objectivity are equally useless. You KNOW he hasn't been so in ages, so why bother 'calling him out' every time he isn't what you don't expect him to be.

Because ... internet.

Personally, I don't care about what he (or any biased media personality) has to say. All I'm saying is that *you* shouldn't take it personally if other people wanna rail on him. He's not a member here, so he (like anyone else not a member here) is fair game. Trying to dictate the way a membership of over 3000 behaves is also fairly futile. You should know that.

I'm not trying to dictate anything. I grew weary of it the moment before I wrote the post. Five minutes later, I couldn't give a hoot less what anyone thought/wrote.

If Keenum doesn't throw a pick 6 the Buc's might not be in the game. If the kicker doesn't miss the FG and XP we might not go for 2. If Britt doesn't fumble the ball the Buc's might not be as close at the end of the game. See Jimmy boy lots of if's in this game and every other game. Shame you just focused on one side of it which in your mind puts the Rams win in question and casts a doubt on the teams performance. Not sure why I'm surprised by him anymore.

this happens to all the goats and heroes in sports. yes, a specific play / final play is the end result of the game, but many plays lead up to that last play / key play.
if kevin carter sacked steve mcnair way back at the 40, that game never reaches the 1 yard line. if mike davis doesnt walk / gets picked off by the A's catcher, Kirk Gibson's homerun ties the game, doesnt win it. bill buckner's error matters not if bruce hurst and bob stanley do their jobs as pitchers. OR, how about the manager putting in a defensive replacement as had been done in games 1,2 and 5. (buckner's ankle was trashed). if jim kelly throws the ball away against the giants instead of taking a sack, the FG attempt is 5-10 yards closer and probably goes in for scott norwood.
so, you see kids, its not just the "big" play you should remember, its the big pile of dog turds all over the front lawn that should remind you of the stink committed by player "xyz" , and how it should be equally shared with all involved.(y)

If we weren't so inept in week 1 we could be 3-0 --- #ifbutsormaybes
