The Jets added some Hall of Fame credibility to their coaching staff Friday.

According to Alex Marvez of the Sporting News, the Jets hired Kevin Greene to coach outside linebackers.

Greene, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame last year, is third on the all-time sack list with 160.0, more than any linebacker in the history of the game.

He spent five years coaching outside linebackers for the Packers under his former mentor Dom Capers, who presented him at the Hall last summer.

Well, it's the Jet offense that is in a state of disarray and they are about to hire Ike Godsey as their next Offensive Coordinator.

Why couldn't the Rams offer him a job!?! He was pretty good with the Packers!(y)o_O

Excellent hire . Glad he made it in the Hall. Bernie was against him in spite .
He was huge with helping Clay Matthews. Won a Super Bowl as a LBer coach.

And why did we let him go again? Let me guess Shaw didntbwant to pay him?

Actually....the switch to a 4-3 defense had alot to do with it. Plus, his contract came up, ironically, on the first year of free agency in the NFL....

He asked the Rams for 1m per year, Steelers offered alittle more than 2m per. But he was already gone, because he wanted a team that employed the 3-4 and allowed him more opportunities to rush the passer.

Chad Brown was a stud there as well. Talk about a low ball offer for a star home grown player, after all the other stuff. That was the beauty about Charlie & Hacksaw deal !! Why not pay your players. In the long run it cost team money.
Let Pittsburg out bid you in FA' ?
I saw Kevin Greene(seat across) at a Olive Garden on a date back then in HB. It stunk knowing he was in battle with The Rams. That was part of fans frustration.
