:wow:

I was on vacation so I didn't hear this.

He really didn't miss kicking one person on his way out, did he?

Demoff ("the other side of the building")... Snead ("I trusted Les")... just wow.

Listening to this made the picture so clear as to why the team, under Fisher, never did excel.

He blames everyone (if I hear "it's not an excuse.. it's reality" one more time, I'll :puke:)

"Loved the players"... we all kinda knew how much, but were never sure. I read the "Country Club" comment on that.

Now that some of this is coming to light, I'm really glad the Rams made the change.

What's done is done and I'm moving on, but Fisher's behavior since he got let go confirms how I've felt about him for a very long time.... ever since he allowed his Titan players to take cheap shots at the Rams in that scrimmage after the Rams SB victory.

IMO, not of very high character.

Good luck, Mr. Fisher.

As far as believing you might get another HC gig? I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.

Fisher kinda cut his HC future by bad mouthing the organization.

Agree with both. I'm sure other owners and front offices have taken notice of him throwing everyone else under the bus in his excuse-fest. Maybe a bad and/or desperate organization might hire him, but his chances of getting a job with a decent team are diminished by his own words.

What’d you think of the Jeff Fisher interview?

“What was amazing to me…was that he went up there and started talking about leaks in the organization and how successful teams need to be tight-knit and on the same page, work together, stay quiet…all those things. And then of course he says he doesn’t think he was ever part of seeing the new stadium…but then (the Fox pre-game show personalities don’t even talk much about it afterwards) Jay Glazer begins to gush about how attractive the job is. I’m thinking, ‘How does (Fisher get up there and take shots at the organization)…and then they don’t even comment on it?’ I would think any coach taking a look at the job opening has to wonder what it’d be like working there.”

Who do you see as potential next head coaching candidates?

“You can make a lot of pros and cons for a lot of guys. When you look around…a guy like Kyle Shanahan may be the best choice. The good offensive coordinators right now (who became head coaches are doing well this year). You look at Ben McAdoo with the Giants, Dirk Koetter with the Bucs, Adam Gase with the Dolphins. I think that’s the direction the Rams should go in.”

We should have fired him two years ago. I am beginning to think that Super Bowl year for the Titans was a combination of good drafting and Jeffie being in the right place at the right time. What a loser.

Shocking, a jilted lover keeps talking anytime somebody puts a mic in front of him.
I agree.
Fisher should keep it classy and go get his nails and hair done with Boras, Weinke and all his other girlfriends.
He can complain and talk all he wants. Bottom line he failed in a major way despite being given tons to work with. This applies to Snead as well. Nice drafting on the O line. Well done.

I would file anything regarding this topic under common sense. Anyone who didn't realize this was a real possibility going back to 2005 or so.....it is just delusional. Again, the thing that matters the least in this deal is butts in seats.

And if replay would have called back the "Music City Miracle", (because it was a forward pass) Fisher never would have sniffed the SB
As a coach of course...

I'll be the first to admit I went after the guy right from the get-go. Probably not fair.

But, looking at his overall record and (this is what really cemented it for me) reading Titan fans comments about his firing (see the umpteen threads on this board now)... it just spelled trouble to me.

He's gone now... hope he catches lots of fish.

We just gotta get this one right!!!!!!!!!

Fish needs to stfu and disappear for a while. You had 5 years bro, cry me a river holy F.

That said, I knew Stan was moving the team when he bought the land by LAX. People at the time in STL were calling it a bluff, but the writing was on the wall for those whose eyes were open.

We kept calling it a bluff because Demoff kept claiming that Kroenke wouldn't lead the charge out of St. Louis and the NFL acted publicly as though they would follow their own relocation guidelines.

Yeah, I know. And I'm not trying to revisit painful stuff here and/or rub it in anyone's face either. But for me personally, I knew at that point because everything I had read about Stan demonstrated painful business divorces that often ended in court.

In retrospect, I believe when the city opted to play hardball with the stadium upgrades is the moment Stan said F it and started down that path. It is what it is man, painful I know.

I hear ya man. It was to apparent where things were going years ago. I'm surprised the very few didn't see it coming as was a total shock. It matters little now, what's done is done.

Listening to it, he kind of says it matter-of-factly, and they don't press him on it, or ask him to clarify. It could be he's talking about his own suppositions at the time, early warning that such a thing might happen, or it's possible he was informed directly and in confidence of a long term plan to move the franchise... hard to definitively say from what's offered here. Just my own caveat, not stating an opinion on which is the actual case.

Aside from that, it's an interesting interview for a look into Jeff Fisher's personality and philosophy. He talks about being a father to the players, and loving the players. And given what we've seen, it's hard to come away from that comment without feeling a little sick about it. It sounds like--and looks like--there was a conflict of interest here, between Fisher wanting to be loved and to take care of these guys, and a Head Coach striving to put a winning product on the field.

During the interview, he defends himself while acknowledging that he didn't win enough games. He points out all the moves and stadiums he's played through, and sets it out there as a counterpoint to all the losing he's done. It's what someone would say who was trying to prop up Fisher, and to hear it from his mouth is a little startling and disconcerting.

To pointed questions about the offensive schemes, he answers directly that they "ran more shotgun," etc. which answers the questions, but doesn't account for the total ineffectiveness of the offense, and he doesn't show any interest in talking about offense. Instead he indirectly but directly calls out the personnel department on not re-signing Jenkins and McLeod.

All of this kind of seems to confirm what we already knew. It was time for him to go. He clearly had issues fixing a team of players who weren't willing or self-motivated to fix themselves. He had excuses baked into his season from the start. He insisted that he was running an up-to-date offense (not addressing whether or not or how it was broken), and showed that indeed he did harbor at least some latent resentment for the personnel and contracts side of the team. So yes. It was time.

Best of luck to him. He turned us around in his time here, but never took that clear next step into the post-season. Talent on the team is a lot better now. What they need is not a father, but a general. Let's hope when that general comes, he is the right guy, and the players are able to buckle down and follow him.

He made the franchise worse.

The NFL is
Not for long .

Spags & Linahan had a 7-9 record.

Interesting listen

It would have been nice if Fox had explored Fisher's comments a bit further
What about the leaks? Is the job really that attractive considering that you would be reporting to Demoff?

A lot of us felt he was moving the team when he took over in 2010.

What he did to Steve McNair was BS. He then did same type thing with Vince Young.
Same as The Rams locking out Mike Marcs
