It was a sad day to see Janoris go. Now he’s trade bait or getting cut. I haven’t heard Trus name is awhile.
John Big Swinging Johnson is a beast. MP is battling injury and Talib should return. They’ll both be ready come playoff time. The secondary is still playing well enough to win games.
I’m glad we didn’t pay both of them over 12 mill. And I love the team we have

2 more great moves by Les

Realizing a players worth and letting him go at the right time is why the Patriots have been so successful .

I was just thinking about Tru yesterday and wondering if he is playing well, jack rabbit was never worth 60 million.

While I agree on each individual point, I sure wouldn't mind either one being back in our secondary for the rest of the year...

Reality being the straight laced prick that it is, I am thankful for the group we have and believe the whole unit takes big steps forward as we get closer to the playoffs.
Talib coming back, Joyner, Johnson and Peters have all proven themselves as capable of being great. I believe they figure it out.

He's been injured for half the games so far this season. Quadriceps injury which seemed to be a recurring issue with him here also. I think he was playing ok before that though. Tru has always been solid in the right defenses. He is a big guy and is great when pressing but gets burned by quick shifts in open field. Why it always drove me mad Greg Williams would play the CBs 10 yards off the ball.

I would accept Jack Rabbit back to the team anytime.

1] He was severely overpaid (thanks, Fisher)
2] He was never really all that good... if some are upset about Peters biting this year, he's nothing compared to the Jenkins.

Really didn't like his play... and the celebrations? Geesh... you'd think he was a perennial pro-bowler the way he acted.

Just average. Glad he's gone and smart to jettison all the money.

Myself ........I am ready for some fresh new youthful blood being drafted into this secondary. Snead has a well proven track record in this area & by now Wade has sure let it be known what type of corners & safeties he desires in his back field.

The wheel & dealing Snead did this off season sure looked good @ that time. However in truth it has not worked out as well as I thought it would. JJ III & NRC are the true leaders in this Ram secondary. Both of these DB's are all stars IMO. Lets try the draft this off season instead Okay?

The loss of starting CB (32 yr old) Aqib Talib to the IR was a very serious blow to this DB unit. Back ups Sam Shields (30 yrs old) & Troy Hill (27 yrs old) could not fill half the shoes of Talib. Sam Shields as expected is still so very rusty & not close to the same as before. Troy Hill is still getting beat often & giving up big plays. There's not much promise for the future in those 3 corners.

CB Marcus Peters 2018 performance is far well below his previous seasons. Peters coverage is not any better than Troy Hill's:palm:. Will the Rams really want to pay Peters $9 million next season for more of the same? Lamarcus Joyner & his over $11 million salary will not be back. This 27 yr old FS Joyner has yet to snag a INT & his perfromance is also well below previous seasons too.

What few draft selections we have left must land a few CB's because I see continued problems in the secondary.

I can't say our secondary is better off without them, honestly. The eyeball test seems to show open receivers downfield a lot lately. Quite a few for TD's. The talent is there so I'm holding out hope they will start playing to the talent level. Maybe the loss of Talib is bigger than we know.

I wouldn’t want either one of them back. I like who we have now.

Having a hurt Marcus Peters now is like having a healthy Tru.

I missed all this about JJ. Getting cut seems pretty extreme. Is there a link to this?

Always liked JJ's play. He was all about quickness and I guess enough time has gone by that he may have lost that step that could make things exciting real fast.

Janoris is an ideal example for the Rams to refer Peters to, in the event he doesn't start putting out some effort in controlling his eyes. Jackrabbit has the skills to be a top cover corner, but he's JAG because of that tendency, which is his selfishness translating to the field.

Peters might get paid by some sorry @$$ dumb team. But if he doesn't fix that tendency with some self discipline and dedication to playing the call he has a similar future ahead. Which would be a shame because he's got more natural skill than Jackrabbit.

I'm still bleaching my brain over the thought process of replacing Jenkins with Coty Sensabaugh

From 2012-2015 the Rams allowed the 3rd fewest TD passes in the league. JJ has started the most games in the NFL, and Tru has the most INTs, of any cornerback the Rams have drafted since 2000.

Neither of them were Darrelle Revis but they made a good tandem.

I was thinking about going into next season. No where said it, I’m just assuming because they’re trying to trade him now

I don't recall Peters getting burned much at all before his injury. Losing Talib didn't help either. Let's see how the season plays out but I am willing to bet Peters improves as he heals, works more on shadowing receivers and quits trying to jump the pattern to make a big play.

Speaking of exes it kills me to see Darian Stewart(Denver) have the long lived career I never saw coming....and he hurt Kupp via horse collar

Luckily, getting Reynolds PT only made us stronger.
