So you feel he has negative trade value?

Maybe we should start the evaluation this way: if he was a free agent today, what would his market value as a CB be?

Yes, I feel he has negative trade value at his current contract cost, length, and age. If he was cut, obviously, it would be more of a bidding war. I'd still like to have him. Considering that Witherspoon, Durant, Curl, Lake, and Kendrick are all free agents at the end of next season, with D-Will being even older and a potential cut candidate next year if he falls off, it wouldn't hurt to have a veteran contract in place for the younger defensive backs (like Forbes, Kinchens, McCollogh, Wallace, Woods, Lampkin, and whomever we draft/sign this year) to learn from. Personally, though, the only way I take on his contract as is would be with a pick swap, and since Miami has no second and their third is a compensatory one just above ours, that's the only way I'd take on that contract.

But can you imagine if Ramsey influences someone like Forbes, Kinchens, or a potential high draft pick in a positive way? Ramsey was a leader on our defense when we had him. It certainly wouldn't hurt to kick the tires on him.

No go with his contract, that's for sure. Not even sure what kind of cap space we still have since Staffords new contract hasn't been posted or announced yet. If there is still any money left I wouldn't mind seeing an Asante Samuel (CB) or Justin Simmons (S) signing.

I'm really shocked that Asante Samuel Jr. hasn't been signed yet. His shoulder injury must be more severe than we think.

I don't know, I'm with the crowd that would like to see him at safety for the rest of his career. Obviously, his current price is too steep for that kind of role but if something could be worked out I would love to have his passion back. Him and Verse would get along great lol... offenses would absolutely hate playing us due to their mouths.

Hope that rumor isn't true. Though getting Williams off whiners is a bonus too.

Contract is prohibitive. I miss him though.

Been rewatching the Rams 2021 season. The people complaining about Ramsey being used in the star position were nuts. He was all over the field making plays. Freaking menace in our system.

Absolutely he could transition to, and excel at playing safety if he wants to.

If he would play safety and play for a much cheaper contract, then yes.

Pretty much the only way I’d bring him back too. He’s actually expressed interest in making the move to safety to lengthen his career similar to Charles Woodson. I think he’d be great at it. Question is, will he take a pay cut? I’m willing to bet Miami asked him, he said no.

If he gets cut, I see no reason why the Rams shouldn't be interested. People saying no seem to think we have a good secondary when we have just a bunch of JAGS. I'm all for improving that area as I view it as a weakness on defense. Besides it would most likely be on a very short deal that we can get out of easily.
Jalen Ramsey is a jag now. Old and slow with an attitude. This is 3 years after the Bengals roasted him in the Super Bowl. No thanks. Keep your trash Miami

Ramsey has a history of approaching football as a businessman-- he's been skilled at squeezing out maximum value for his services.

If by some miracle he decides that he wants to chase another ring with the Rams at a steep discount, then hell yes. But if he follows his usual MO and goes for the big bucks, then no.

Burnt toast in the biggest game.

This is where I'm at. Ramsey knows ball and tackles.
Aeneas Williams Mark 2.
I think he would make an AllPro Safety.
If he's willing to come here cheap, I say YES!

Nope.
Never was a "We" guy. Gets burned from jumping routes and can't recover anymore.
He's the guy I worried about the most when the D was on the field.

Sorry but you obviously haven’t seen Jalen play lately. A shell of himself. No thanks
I've seen him and I've also seen our CBs too. He's got something left in the tank. He's better than any CB we have now. If we could get him on an affordable 1 year deal, there's zero harm in it. I say its worth the risk if he's affordable as the risk would be extremely low in this case. So since you are obviously so against them, please tell me who is better out there that we can get if he somehow becomes a free agent?

Some folks hate this guy so much they can't get past that and simply say he sucks. Its kinda funny. I'm not even saying he's the best CB in the NFL but he'd be much better than anything we have. He'd literally be our only CB with size if the Rams somehow resigned him to a decent contract. Guess some would rather have our shorties matching up with the AJ Brown's of the world lol..... we'll see where his story goes from here. Going to be interesting to see if he just gets cut as I can't see a team simply taking on his current contract.

Yeah I'm actually surprised at the responses. I get he's overpaid but by reading this thread you'd think that he was no longer good and that we had good CBs.

Neither are remotely true.
