Jackson got a game ball for a reason I think. Even a hurt Garrett is a matchup.

Line as a whole did a good job today vs one of the best defenses in the league. It's a big step forward for them no matter how you slice it.

Williams really threw himself in there didn't he. Proof that a good percentage of pass blocking for backs is willingness to sell out to do it. The rest is knowing where to apply yourself.

Good yes, great No.

Good enough today apparently.

I plan to go back and watch the game to see how they held up.

Hard to really say until you slow down the tape and watch each snap.

They’ve got the second best defense in football. Their numbers aren’t as impressive on the road as they are at home but still, Stafford wasn’t sacked. He did a good job of moving around to avoid pressure a few times. Overall I thought the Oline blocked well.

I know Cleveland has a great D, but Stafford was rushing his throws all game. He also dumped too many out of bounds for my liking.
Stafford helped himself yesterday, avoiding sacks.

Our oline still isn’t good enough to run McVays offense correctly and we know McVay won’t budge on what he wants to do.

I thought he rarely had to rush his throws.

The browns had 0 sacks and 2 QB hits.

Quote from Miles Garett

Garrett said. “Just had a great game plan for us up front.

I sure did.
When Stafford has time, he can pick a defense apart.
This wasn’t the case.
He has to get the ball out fast or dump it off.

We had way too many 3 and outs and dumped off way too many balls.

0 sacks and 2 QB hits entire game (in comparison to some other games - eagles for example had 8 QB hits and 4 sacks...Bengals 10 qb hits and 6 sacks).

I think a few of the dump offs were by design - I also can remember 1 or 2 when he looked down field but didn't see anything.

Miles Garett had 0 tackles in the game and I don't remember him getting near Stafford.

The Browns have very good DBs. It may be the case that pass catchers weren’t getting open early so he started trying to get them the ball quicker.

I definitely think he looked more comfortable as the game went on. He looked skittish in the first quarter.

Maybe it was McVays game plan to get the ball out quickly, to avoid Stafford taking any hard hits.

I’m not making an argument the Rams have a GREAT line, but wouldn’t the performance you described be standard for most offenses against that D?

I guess it’s hard to be definitive with Garrett less than 100%.

Garrett said he was fine in the post game - said rams just shut him down..

Hard to believe he was fine - He never got near Stafford and had 0 tackles.

However have to give some credit to the 0-line and the scheme as well.

We definitely looked better late in the game.
Their D was wearing down a bit.

Williams wasn’t very effective early on either.
I commend McVay for sticking with the run.
It took a while to get the it going , but Williams finally managed to break some solid runs off.

I also thought we owned them in starting Field Position. That helped considerably yesterday.

Dominating the line of scrimmage should always be the goal.
Getting by, isn’t good enough to win consistently.

Sure.
But an objective observation question.. are they good now?

Most people here are on same page.. they could upgrade at LT & Center.

But, zero sacks & 4.8 YPC after last week’s performance seems to be notable?

I’m curious what PFF says.

yeah, i want to see the grades - I'm predicting they will be high.

0 sacks and 2 qb hits - and Alaric Jackson got the game ball,,, i know where the evidence is pointing.
