I don't own an iPhone, but this baby would be tempting:

iPhones need to be bigger. I like the galaxy mostly because of the size, iPhones are too small for me... I just wish the galaxy was more sturdy.

The galaxy line of phones are the best out there, IMO.

Sounds like Apple will have a 4.7" and a phablet product this fall. We'll see.

thinking i might upgrade to the galaxy5 soon

Dont need a screen so big it makes it a small tablet, pretty soon some phones will be almost as big as regular tablets.

I'm happy with my S3 but waiting to see what the next big thing is. I won't upgrade to the S5 because it's not that big of a jump......it was a let down for me, I was expecting more goodies I guess.

How spoiled are we that we complain about the tech we have available. Less than a decade ago we were all sporting flip phones and texting was just really starting to get rolling.

I was reading an article recently about how advancements in mobile tech (specifically smart phones) has slowed significantly the last year or so.

The improvement from the original iPhone to the iPhone 5 is huge... But the 4 to the 5... Not so much.

The Galaxy phones are inching along now, to Les' point.

I mean;
  • The screens are all amazing now
  • Processor technology has reached the speed vs power consumption apex
  • The size, particularly thickness, is about as thin as desired
  • The cameras can still improve, but that curve has flattened as well
  • The operating systems and app Eco systems are mature (iOS and Android)
To me, the next significant leap is when your smartphone is the main hardware powering your laptop/tablet. Think Asus PadPhone with the specs to really pull that concept off. But it will happen, someday, rather soon, but not tomorrow.

Still the best mobile OS ever made. Hopefully LG, who is now using it for their TV's, will bring it back to the mobile platform.

WebOS was a platform that could have made it!

What could have been!

I haven't left. I'm still hangin' on. Only mobile OS where I can actually keep my data off someone else's cloud. It's been open sourced, So, I'm crossing my fingers hoping it'll get ported to a mainstream current hardware device.

When HP put the TouchPad on fire sale, I landed 3 devices for $300.

I kept one for myself and was impressed. The accessories were pretty good too, particularly the BT keyboard.

In the end, I sold off all of them.

But that OS had legs. Wish Palm sold it to someone other than HP.

I was at Handspring when they first released the Palm OS as a smart mobile phone. It was the first in a new class. It's unfathomable that they lost their mkt position.

Looks like Apple is trying to be innovative and add a note and heart rate monitor...oh wait.

It is amazing how Apple seems to be a follower now.

Samsung tends to be quite imaginative. Some of it works. Some of it falls flat. But, I give them credit for pushing new ideas.

One reason why I liked the recent update to IOs........it works like my Andriod LOL.
