Love that show. Best episode is the one where the dude doesn't take the road where they won't accept his dog.
Best Twilight Zone episode was the one where the Nazi SS officer got his comeuppance from the Jewish prisoners he murdered. The ending quote has stuck with me, especially as a Jewish woman.

Do I wish we had that third Lombardi? Yep. Do I think McVay still pulls the trigger on Stafford? Yep. McVay is a savant. He knows exactly what an upgrade looks like, as do most of the rest of us. It's the tractor vs trailer argument. Stafford tractor. Goff trailer.

Yes he would still be our QB.
What he was dumb enough to say it, yup. But not the end of the world. The lady is HOT !. Maybe he should have just said that. It was kind of a complement, just a dumb way to say it. And today kids put their whole lives out there, its crazy IMO.
You know................ this is the same Goff that had trouble where the sun came up and set.
But, McVay lost that Super Bowl by being too stubborn. If he would have came out at the half in the 2 minute, 2 TEs ? Something like that and we could have pulled it off.
Still, no other coach I would rather have.

Woof...

Haha.
Its cause I played one year of HS football against him.
He was so much better than everyone else on the field he was like an alien......fast forward to the NFL and he is slow and small with a weak arm.

Its something to see when a high school kid is ranked with 3 or 4 stars and they aren't A lineman. The talent really shines on the field. We don't see too many in our area, but its always impressive to watch them.

I liked the one where the guy had time to read and he broke his glasses

And with that in mind, we need to segue this thread to a Twilight Zone discussion. Better than where this is heading.

If someone is feeling the pressure and increasing their turnovers, I find it odd that you don’t see that they could be also missing even more opportunities to throw TD passes. If he’s back there ending drives with fumbles (some of which were in the red zone or deep in enemy territory), he’s not giving himself or the team opportunities to score TDs. He was also throwing out of bounds and making some awful throws while he was increasing his turnovers. The result is going to definitely lower his TD rate. And seriously to a much greater extent than you seem to be saying. Turn overs, bad throws, etc…, could and likely would result in a 2-1 margin.
I agree with the Twilight Zone theory, not sure what people are looking for here.
As I've repeatedly said, Goff peaked in the middle of '18 and he declined after that. The slight increase in his turnover rate was a bi-product of that decline, not the cause of it.
Alas if folks want to point to his turnovers as the key, have at it. From where I sat, I saw a QB play elite, lost his edge and couldnt find it again. And frankly, he never will

Goff is still a very good QB. At no point in his career was he ever elite. He’s the same guy now that he was in 2017.

With the Rams and Lions he has benefitted from a good offensive mind, good skill position players, and a good Oline. When any of that breaks down, his weaknesses are exposed.

In 2017 and some of 2018 defenses were struggling with how to defend against McVay’s scheme. It enabled Goff to excel, until some coaches decided to see what happens if Goff is under a lot of pressure, it worked and the Rams offensive line woes added to that. Hence the turnovers and drop in offensive production too.

I never said 5 more turnovers equal 10 less TDs. Math does not apply in this instance. I never inferred that it did. But turnovers and stalled drives in general do take away scoring opportunities. There were plenty of stalled drives.

That can be said of 90% of NFL QBs. Pressure? It affects most QBs. That why multiple DEs and Edge rushers go off the board in the first round every year. I'd bet over the last 10 years more DE/EDGE have been 1st round picks than QBs.

I feel like we are completely in agreement on him so I am confused how we are somehow arguing.
Alas, all worked out best for the Rams and Goff so all is right in the world

I don't think I've ever seen Lithgow be bad in anything. He's a GOAT.

Yeah there’s a reason he’s been working since the 70’s. Absolutely fantastic character actor with incredible range. He can be the feeble old man or the chilling villain. He made the transition from film to television back to film with ease. Yes he can also play great comedic parts. But I’m not sure why he’s being framed as some slapstick humor actor here. I will not abide!

Anyway yeah I think branding is very important the Rams. I’m not talking just the jerseys and logos, I mean the overall perception of the team, and how they’re trying to build a generational fan base in LA… I think moving on from a Super Bowl winning quarterback would have been a much harder sell to Kroenke and co.

Honestly I think he would have stayed. And I shudder to think how Stafford could have ended up in SF.

Glad things went another way!

And?

Some QBs handle pressure better than others. Goff’s biggest problem seemed to be interior pressure.

But look at Sam Darnold, we pressured him in the playoffs and he looked TERRIBLE after having a really good season.
Some QBs get effected a LOT more than others.
In Darnold's defense, we didn't pressure him......we pummeled him! But yeah some guys are better than others. What was Goff's numbers last year under pressure? Anybody know?
